  • Windows Phone Sales Make Me Sad
    S SergheiT

Nothing really holds you to switch to MS Outlook. You will have Outlook, calendar, address book that is linked to LinkedIn, Skype, Facebook, Twitter. You can easily upload pictures and any documents into OneDrive. You also will have Xbox games. Plus you can use Reading List application to create bookmarks and access them from any Windows devices. Music service is available too. The list is going to be very long to continue... In my opinion, the Windows Phone is being hardly accepted at consumer level simply because of bad marketing and lack of device selection. Go to any mobile store here in Canada and you will hardly find any Windows Phone devices. Ask any sale person what services are available from Windows Phone platform - they do not know. Ask advice what to buy - the answer is Apple or Android. Plus ask your IT for BYOD - most corporations does not support WP.

  • I am Software Developer ?
    S SergheiT

Reading, reading and reading. 1. Try to learn best practices in software development by reading materials such as .NET naming convention, C# syntax, Object Oriented Programming concepts, etc. 2. Try not to memorize the framework, but rather try to understand. The framework might be different in your next carrier. 3. Try to learn from people who has more experience, because this is the fastest way to learn. For better understanding - listen and experiment with the coding. 4. Do not right any complicated code during your first year. 5. Subscribe for computer news, MSDN magazine, etc. In my opinion here are interesting articles to read Link1 Link2 Good luck.

  • Share your experiences with Nokia Lumia phone...
    S SergheiT

Nokia Lumia 920. Very robust phone. I bought it just when the model was released. I have done soft reset couple times since then. Phone is very responsive and fast. Embedded Nokia navigation system that allows download all required maps locally and does not require cellular data to navigate. PureView camera cannot be compared to any phone cameras on the market. Good quality pictures. Plus XBox games, plus MS Office mobile, One Note.

  • Microsoft Is Dying!0!0110!
    S SergheiT

All these people who writes that type of articles are CONSUMERS. They carry their toys with them and they are happy. All they do all the time on their iPads, iPhones, Android, WP devises - Facebook, Twitter, Texting, playing games. They do not realize that so many businesses are heavily relying on Microsoft and its infrastructure. They do not understand, that many companies still need GIS, ERP systems just simply provide 3G, Wi-Fi for their toys and deliver gas/hydro to simply charge their small devices. There are some system in place ambulance, police and other services rely on. If Microsoft dies (all these Apple/Android fan boys are cheering for) are going to be huge circumstances. Many people are going to loose their jobs, many businesses would struggle to support their services and provide services to their customers. Our GIS, ERP systems are built on MS infrastructure. What happens if MS dies? In our case, approximately 250,000 customers (most of them CONSUMERS) will struggle. Just my thoughts.
