I have never used a curved monitor and have no intention to do so in this lifetime or the next. :) However, a couple of developers I have worked with in the past had used them. One liked it, the other did not. The one that did not like the curved monitor went back to their prior dual 27inch monitor setup. Don't really know why the one did not like the single curved monitor. I currently use both at home and at work, a dual 27inch monitor setup. The only way to fly IMHO. Cheers.

Curved monitor: I think I've made a mistake -
Can anyone stick a date when VS became a piece of memory crunching s**t?Agreed. For me, Chrome and VS consume all my PC/laptop's memory, for sure. Not exactly sure why, but it does appear to get worse with newer versions and as time goes by.

It's magic!I currently have business class cable internet, so I fly at home (I also work from home). I am switching to this, probably next year some time. What is Fios? Internet, TV and Digital Voice Phone Plans | Verizon[^] I do not do anything wireless except phone. My personal computer and work computer are both hard line internet connections. When I used to game (competitively 3-6 hours a day), the hard line was essential. It sucks having slow internet. Glad you are traveling faster these days. Nice!!

Am I the only Fallout fan on these forums?I stopped playing all video games for 1 year. Needed to detox the brain. Going on 2 months now, no vid games of any kind. Best decision I have made in a long time. I highly recommend it. Been replacing the vid games with watercolor, pen and ink drawings, etc. Reading lots of books that I wish I read a lot sooner. Enjoying the outdoors more. Just going old school with my hobbies has been so refreshing, really.

Steve Jobs Stanford speechYeah, it's a great speech. I have watched it a few times over the years. It has some very important messages in there, I think. This speech was given approx. 2 years after he was first diagnosed with cancer. I hazard to guess it would not be as great, if it were given before his cancer diagnosis.

Another Visual Studio Update, Another Level of Ineptitude.I have a few close friends that work for Microsoft, and they are developers there. I am not saying this is the reason, but it may be a contributing factor: too many young people with subpar work ethic. I've preached about this in other threads over the years, but my friends brought this up to me before, a few times. I guess its becoming a big deal/issue there. It would explain or partially explain the increased lackluster rollouts and releases, the bugs that should have been caught during normal testing processes, etc. - the silly, stupid stuff that should never occur. Hey, go woke, go broke. You get what you pay for. If Microsoft wants to pay for shite, then they get shite. Just saying...

New week, new toy...Now that is cool. I love the Dexcom G6. Best sensor on the market right now IMHO. Looking forward to picking up the next version. I also enabled private message replies on my account settings. I must have disabled this years ago. lol.

How do they attach? Do they stick on, or are they basically just a large drawing pin / thumbtack?
they attach with sticky adhesive. Inserts a piece of filament into and under the skin. Painless, really. I rarely prick my finger now for testing.

New week, new toy...I had an FSL2 for almost 4 years. I graduated to: Dexcom G6 (sensor) Omnipod 5 (insulin pump) Everything is Bluetooth and controlled via app on cell phone.

More developers are using the Rust languageNew Windows 11 build ships with more Rust-based Kernel features[^] I see Rust replacing C++ in a lot of usage scenarios going forward.
Quote:
Microsoft announced that the latest Windows 11 build shipping to Insiders in the Canary channel comes with additional Windows Kernel components rewritten in the memory safety-focused Rust programming language. Rust is seen as a safer alternative to C and C++ due to its memory safety improvements which help prevent common issues such as null pointer dereferences, buffer overflows, and dangling pointers that could lead to system crashes and security breaches. It also enforces rigorous rules for concurrent programming, mitigating data race conditions where multiple threads concurrently access and modify shared data, thus allowing developers to write concurrent code that is secure and free from data races. This is critical for Kernel processes as memory bugs could allow attackers to execute commands at the highest privilege levels in Windows. Therefore, securing them with a memory-safe programming language would be a priority for Microsoft.

One thing I actually like about documenting my codedoes your code go through a Code Review process where you are not the one reviewing your code?

Seriously, Google, my eyes can't roll anymore!I could not replicate your situation in OP. All results were relative and accurate. Not signed into Chrome or Google, etc. I did not see any link to the White House in the first 3 pages for results. Interesting.

Coding. Yeah, I'm burnt out at the moment; have been for 6 months or so. Ugh. Extensive overuse of tight deadlines usually causes this for me.
