Deleted answers are still visible on the MemberPosts.aspx page (they are only visible for you). Scroll down, and click on the "Show Only Publicly Available Posts" link. Then you'll see 'Answers (429)' on the MemberPosts.aspx page. On your profile, "Q&A answers" only shows the number of publicly available posts. Hope this helps.
