I have a completely different experience. We have a 25-year-old DFX-9000 that is still printing green bar like crazy. We also have a 14-year-old Stylus Photo R2880 for 13 x 19 for photographic prints and still working but scheduled for replacement. For normal documents, we have a 7-year-old WF-4740 inkjet that actually replaced a Brother Laser we had for 15 years. No issues with any of them except when the Brother finally gave up the ghost. Sometimes, it's the environment but I learned a long time ago that crappy paper jams easily so we never use anything less than 20 lbs. We normally use 24 lb. for most documents and 48 lb. photo paper for prints.

I'm Looking For A Product That Only A Genius Can Find, And This Is The Only Place I Find GeniusesThere is no product that will reduce noise by 124dB. The best you could hope for (in a single, economical product) is 30-40dB. People who work every day around excessive noise sometimes use ~33dB foam ear plugs in conjunction with ~35dB over-the-ear protective headsets. That said, solutions for NASCAR fans who need an intercom to communicate with each other and listen to scanner traffic are already commercially available. I have used similar equipment systems at Daytona, Talladega and Ft. Worth. Take a look at https://www.racingradios.com/collections/fans/products/racing-radios-fan-intercom-starter-package[^]. I do not work with or have any affiliation with Racing Radios.

Tabs vs SpacesYou've got a point there. Word and WordPad (and many others, I'm sure) default to a proportional font so the default tab is 1/2 inch. Oddly, with a monospace fonts, I don't even consider the distance, per se, but instead a sufficient number of characters to make it read comfortably. Perhaps others do this? In any case, I normally choose 4 characters for the tab length in those files but I may have been influenced by so many editors choosing that same number.

Teams screen sharing on a ultrawide monitorI had the same issue with my UHD 3840 x 2160 monitor that I run at native scale. No one could see anything clearly. So, I bought a 1920 x 1080 monitor and mounted it to the wall (making sure I hit a wall stud) with a VESA articulating arm so I can move it in or out of the way as needed. The great thing is that most phones and even people with older equipment can handle that res.

Anyone else getting this ?I would also say video drivers are most likely the culprit though poorly-written code may be assisting. Instead of rebooting, try Win+Ctrl+Shift+B to reset the graphics driver. If that resolves it, that's the culprit, IMHO.

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMI disagree. It cannot be obsolete when it is still taught in business, accounting and literature classes at good schools as well as all branches of the US military. Too, just because a number of people in the population have not been educated in the proper use of capitalization (and what it actually means) does not translate to a valid reason to discontinue using it as a method of emphasis and delineation. Using that logic, we should remove a all stop signs because people rarely come to a full stop any longer. Sometimes, things have reason for existing whether or not you understand the logic. I see no need to accommodate anyone reading capital letters in anything I create. If they are so uninformed, my advice is to learn the meaning and proper use of capitalization.

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMAs my first reply to this has been flagged yet again, is there no possible way to whitelist users so it doesn't happen? I feel like I cannot write anything without submitting to moderation. I expect this may be flagged as well. Would it help to treat my comments as text rather than HTML?

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMNo need to answer this but it sounds like an opportunity to school the uninitiated on a long-standing tradition of capitalization. As I look around me, much of what I see is capitalized. A can of PLANTERS CASHEWS, ALMONDS & PECANS. A Texas Lottery ticket with "PRINTED ON SUN SEP03 2017 17:53:44 CT." A book titled "THEM CHANGES." A band schedule of "2017 TOUR DATES." My KENWOOD receiver. The banner of "THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE." All capitalized. All necessary. Are we losing the true meaning of capitalization? Is the proper use of capitalized words no longer recognized? Have we forgotten that is means emphasis, not shouting? I hope it hasn't come to this.

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMWith the kindest respect in return, know that I am more than old enough to know that caps in the body of a message can be considered shouting but many business schools and accounting courses teach that a subject line must be capitalized. Please do not infer shouting when you see all caps in the subject line because there are a great number of people like myself who were taught to do it, on purpose, chiefly for clarity and delineation.

RESEARCH LIBRARY ITEM "Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud: What's the difference?" NOT FOUNDI just tried it for like the 5th time and it worked so perhaps one the servers in the farm has an issue?

RESEARCH LIBRARY ITEM "Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud: What's the difference?" NOT FOUNDThe link is not working. I'm using Chrome. Is that not allowed? I get a big black DOS-style window that says: --------- Ticket: (No ticket provided - possibly an error in the error-system) Error: An error occurred in this page. The error has been recorded and the site administrator informed. Abort, Retry, Fail?_ --------- I would send a screenshot but I don't see a way to do that.

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMThe reason for all caps in the subject line is because that is what I was taught as a standard of letters and transmittals in the U.S. Navy. I have always used caps in letters and E-mail since then.

ALL OF MY COMMENTS SUDDENLY BEING FLAGGED AS SPAMGeez, what do I have to do to prove I'm a real person living in Houston, Texas? I posted a reply yesterday and it got flagged as spam. I posted a bug report today and it is flagged as spam, too! What give?! I guess this one will be flagged, as well!

SSD... is it worth it in an old computer? No doubt whatsoever. Sure, like the others say, make sure you have plenty of RAM but changing to an SSD made a HUGE difference! It's the only reason that I have delayed getting a new computer. Currently using a (purchased in 2008!) Dell Precision T5500 with Dual Xeon W5580 @ 3.2 GHz (8M L2, 6.4 GT/s), 16GB RAM DDR3, ICH10 chipset and originally equipped with a PERC6 RAID and 3GB/s SAS hard drives; dumped that in favor of a Samsung EVO 850, installed the management software and still boots crazy fast. I back up every day with Veeam Desktop (fantastic freeware!) and I don't worry at all about running without RAID. Come to dark side, Luke! LOL

Looking for a good freeware backup application that does thisI tried to contribute what I thought was a good answer but the moderator apparently deleted it. So much for trying to be helpful.

Looking for a good freeware backup application that does thisVeeam offers a FREE fully-functional Endpoint Backup manager for Windows OR Linux that essentially maintains a snapshot of the entire disk (including non-OS partitions) via block-level synchronization. That means the first backup will take a long time but all subsequent backups take only as long as required for changes that have occurred. The free version of Veeam can perform a full restore to different hardware in the event of disaster but, amazingly, even offers a method to create a deployable VM to spin up on a cloud server. The only downside (in the free version) is that you will need a local NAS or DAS to hold the backups. Even so, my opinion is that Veeam is the absolute best backup software I have ever seen in my 30 years of experience, free or otherwise! Free Windows Backup for Endpoints, Servers, Desktops - Veeam Agent for Windows[^]
