They're running out of ways to innovate on TVs. Ultrawides are a solution looking for a problem.

In France, expect beaucoup de vacation[^] Generous management? No. Ever since the 35-hour work week was instituted in France, the government mandates five weeks of vacation for everyone, and those who work more than 35 hours -- like most white-collar workers -- earn an additional two weeks. *sigh*

http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2011/04/first-preview-of-internet-explorer-10-arrives-with-new-features.ars[^] To these, Microsoft is adding a prototype for W3C's File API, which allows trusted Web applications limited access to the local filesystem. Hallelujah! Then multiple file uploads will not require the hideousness of flash.

Can't you remove the "sending down the wire" part of the process to verify that you're using zlib correctly? BTW visual studio can show binary data if you use the open with feature in the file open dialog.

Because the release of FF4 makes IE9 look outdated by several years. How long will it take MS to play catchup this time?

I always get a chuckle when our IT teams calls ME the developer to ask what <insert server name> is for and is anyone still using it.

I'm still annoyed that you have to use flash to get multiple file uploads working on IE9. With Chrome, Firefox and Safari they support the 'multiple' attribute on the file input tag and also support the FileAPI. So it's super simple to support multiple file uploads natively on those non-IE browsers. Maybe the 9 refers to the number of releases it will take them to catch up to the other browsers? And yes, that number will keep increasing
