Aha! I should, perhaps, read the documentation sometimes, what with it being the first sentence and that. The crazy lengths we are forced to go to stop mitigate people attacking our software... Regards, Rob Philpott.

In one place I worked, the error message "member not found" was display to one of the (male) PHBs. The story of the PHB's member having gone missing went around like wildfire.

This always happens, when you start with a new hardware. After 10 years it goes better. honey the codewitch wrote: I waited a day. Ran it again. It worked. Exactly like Qt Creator installer.

It has to do with capture, where we grab the value of i by the use of assignment into n before launching another task. There is nothing magical about using a variable named n... we could have called it george. What's important is that the current value of i in the for loop is captured before launching the task. If we had not done that, the for loop would complete execution, setting i to 11 before the first task was launched. That is what is meant by closure.

That's actually context dependent which is more difficult. Even the most basic Forms and Custom Controls, which can be a requirement in even the simplest data entry/LOB applications, are far more difficult to write and implement in WinForms than in WPF. One of the very core strengths, which is also its weakness vis-à-vis learning curve, is the emphasis on reusability. Control templates, data templates, triggers, etc. are very powerful paradigms that are very difficult to implement in WinForms, and lead to overly complicated code.

Uh huh. Can I assume this is the same secret group that restarted the Flat Earth conspiracy nonsense? There are no solutions, only trade-offs.    - Thomas Sowell A day can really slip by when you're deliberately avoiding what you're supposed to do.    - Calvin (Bill Watterson, Calvin & Hobbes)

I like having Phone Link, but I dumped it. It is territorial about its Bluetooth connections, especially with an iOS device. I found that unless I turn off my PC, or at least its Bluetooth, my iPhone won't play nice with other devices because W11 is too greedy with its connection. I would try to answer my phone in my front yard - 80 feet away - and I would have to remember to change the call to use my phone's audio. None of my macOS connections did this, nor any other device I've ever had. Somehow iOS logic can't deal with the way Windows handles things.

English developed from communication of daily experiences by common folk over two millennia. Hence the English system of units, which look arcane but were very practical. It is flexible and adaptable, but that can lead to confusion. Look at the knots tied in mangled lamguage by lawyers trying to pin down in writing agreements that to ordinary people seem obvious!
