Assuming you mean Objective C, then it's a programming language derived from C and Smalltalk (I like to think of it as the Bastard offspring of the illicit union of C and ST ;) Many people like it because it's less complex than C++ while giving C objects. Personally, I don't like the syntax, which is a marriage of both dialects.
Hello Maureen For non programmers, I would recommend that you download a copy of JavaScript tutorial from the website: www.trainingtools.com. It is an excellent book in pdf format. I will later tell you some other good books for reference, but you would do well to visit http://javascript.internet.com where there are thousands of scripts for use.You can download and study them to get a feel of how to use the various aspects of JvaScript. Thanks for the input Erik. Sounds like it should go pretty straight forward. I was just concerned cause the docs talk about running a few programs to create a new database. But if the programs are just creating the directories and file structure that VSS wants to use, the recursive file copy should do the trick. Thanks again. Chris
Up and down... Sorry if the site has been up and down like a yo-yo. Just trying to tune SQLServer and the scripts. Don't you hate it when you develop on one machine (eg my slow laptop), transfer it to another (eg fast server) and the app runs slower. This is fun right? right? cheers, Chris Maunder
