...of course! After all, the Mac is so compatible, it even works with alien starships. Sheesh! Iain.

Iain Clarke appears because CPallini still cares.

ah - my all time favourite scene of any computer related scene in a movie. 'Uploading Virus...' So good because it was so bad.

True story: My sophomore year of college I stayed up all night cramming for a physics test. Before this I didn't hardly ever drink coffee. I drank a whole 10 cups in about 6 hours. Two hours after that I began to have side-effects. I began shaking pretty badly, then passed out while walking down the stairs from my dorm room. Luckily my test wasn't until that afternoon so I didn't miss it. I haven't touched coffee since.

Smart man. I just read a book called "Caffeine Blues". Went through Caffeine withdrawal after reading it. Not pleasant - but after learning how bad that stuff is I wanted it out of my system. No kidding man ... "profound fatigue", muscle cramps - the works. (During the withdrawal). -CB :omg:

Yeah, it's pretty bad stuff. It dehydrates the hell out of me and gives me serious headaches. I can only drink coffee now if I also drink large amounts of water along with it, and then as u can imagine I'm running to the bathroom pretty frequently that any advantage gained in "awareness" is quickly diminished. Just bought a tin of "half-caff" and am trying it out. It's pretty tasteless, but doesn't give me a headache. Why don't I just stick to tea? ;P

It's already doing better than that. Have a look around the C++ forum here. You'll quickly see the signs of a tireless machine, methodically learning C++* by asking questions, collecting responses, asking follow-up questions, etc. etc. It is a horrifyingly beautiful sight. *yes, of course it's learning C++. Wrap up April 19 2011 and only using .NET 3.5. How lame is that? I expect it to be in .NET 8 CTP by that stage, running on Windows 12. Sheesh - if you're going to jump onto a bandwagon, at least ensure that it's actually going somewhere and that somebody hasn't stolen the wheels.

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

We--elllll. . . I thought that Windows 7 is due in 2010, which is to say a probably sliced-down but overloaded version closer to early 2012. . . Although by then, who knows, we might finally have some great MacWindows machines. :-D Weren't we supposed to be travelling to Jupiter by then . . . ?(A.C. Clarke) Toodles!

...probably not. And we also know that as soon as it tries to take over other machines it'll be nothing but driver headaches and incompatible hardware.

I guess I can look forward to many meaningful conversations with you that was sarcasm, I thought I should explain since you didn't seem to understand that my "back to the future" was an intentional incorrect statement in direct reference to the movie. Nice talking to you. Yeah, sarcasm also.

Actually Skynet was written in itself--it's a recursive, self-defining language.

Windows 12 in 2011? What an optimist. The next version, Windows 7, won't even have a service pack 1 by then. At microsoft's current release rate, Windows 12 isn't until at least 30 years from now. :)

Why don't I just stick to tea? ;P

I used to drink up to 2 litres of coffee a day till 9 years ago. Really screwed up my intestines. Doc advised me to stop drinking big amounts of coffee, but said, a cup every now and then would be okay. Also stopped drinking the occasional cup a few years ago, since it does me no good. So I completly switched to tea. But makes me go to the bathroom even more often than coffee.
