    Just reading through a job spec I've been sent by a recruiter and got to this line;

    Quote:

    • Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written skills

    An emphasis on verbal and written communication skills. As opposed to what? Mime? Interpretive dance? Semaphore?

    Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

    I imagine that while a one digit or two digit communication(I am not talking about binary here) method may be the standard manner in which experts would like to communicate to 'management', they are perhaps looking for something beyond this.

        Some people are bad at non-verbal and non-written; in particular the eye contact part*. * especially with the opposite gender :-)

                Ties. Apparently they have meaning. It's Serious Business for many manager-type people, the only type of people that have time to worry about tie-astrology.

                  I'm not sure that would be a great opening line should I get an interview.

                    I would turn down a job offer if they required me to wear a tie every day. Pointless bloody disease ridden strips of cloth. Only purpose to they serve is to remind you of meals you once had.

                                          This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a fucking golf cart.
                                          "I don't know, extraterrestrial?" "You mean like from space?" "No, from Canada." If software development were a circus, we would all be the clowns.
