that could be funny... you don't have it as large as mine, that's why you can't use it

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Alternatively, click the ↑ button (third from the top, left column) to reveal the additional options.

Have you noticed that the ln (natural log) button is removed from Windows 8 / Win 10 calculator? You can see the (original - win xp, win vista, win 7) had it. Old Windows Calculator (image)[^] Why they remove that? Oh, here's the terribly useful Windows 10 doc on the calculator. Ugh! Calculator in Windows 10[^] X| If you find the ln button in the Windows 10 calculator, please let me know. I need to calculate a natural logarithm immediately if not sooner.

Click the Up-arrow just below the square root sign, to the left of CE.

So the functions you can perform depend on the width of your screen? I say "that's clever!" except I'd need the antonym. And probably a few swear words.

Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

You can also get to the additional functions with the ↑ key. But it's still not the best design. :)

This is additionally funny because over the weekend while developing my UWP I learned that Universal doesn't mean the app will run on Win8.x and Win10 --- not everywhere and I made this graphic in honor of the terrible UWP experience. Universal - Not what you think it means[^]

Click the UP arrow on the calculator display. It will change log10 to ln, 10^x to e^x, etc. EDIT: Arggh! beaten by Richard!

Also, has anyone noticed that you CANNOT resize the calc window from the top? That's a cool new behavior of the new Windows UI too, isn't it? More user punishment. Here's the insider view of the MS devs at work. Dev 1: Can you imagine when the user (giggle, snort) attempts to resize from the top of the window and he cannot get a resize arrow (giggle, giggle)? That's how TI scientific calculators work. They have a 2nd button to get to the second functions. Not saying it's a good design for an app but if you are familiar with physical calculators then it's pretty easy to see that all those buttons had the up arrow on them.

That is a good explanation of that. I agree. However, the UI designers definitely needed to think outside that box a bit, I think. It's almost like an airplane engineer thinking, "well, I have to make this thing just like a car, because that is what people know. Now, where do I put the turn signals? Right here by the steering wheel of course." :)

They paid Google to do that. See Anrdoid Studio.

Someone else mentioned that too. I never would've guessed that up arrow meant that. I think Microsoft has instituted a new UI Design goal...Punish the user   It's actually punishment for using their app. Microsoft has begun to punish users for using their stuff. It makes sense now.

IIRC there is a section (can't recall which) in Charles Petzold's book "Programming Windows", where he writes "No one said it would be easy".

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
