What type of stupid idiot would leave out such basic functionality??? :doh: :doh: :doh: At the minimum, use the power generated to run the other functions when the electricity goes out! And get healthier at the same time! Come on, now! The name is hinted at in the item being replaced - salt Shaker! Dummys! I guess it is time to get into some IoT and make the big bucks.

            Ah! So! I see the idea, but you aren't taking it quite far enough. You shake a salt cellar to dispense salt, yes? So what this needs is a "shake to charge" system. Given that the dispense is motorised, quarter of an hour of shaking should provide enough charge to dispense salt for one person (and run the WiFi for a while). :-D

                                      OH FFS! Really? This is why we can't have nice things. EVERYTHING has to have a battery in it, be rechargeable, and WiFi connected?!
