I loved driving in Germany. 99% of the drivers follow 99% of the rules... and the other 1% follow 100% of the rules! What a breeze! Some friends and I drove 880 kilometers (550 miles) in 4 hours actual travel time, setting off at 0400 and arriving at 0900 with two stops for petrol and one for breakfast. No incidents, no scares, smooth driving the whole way. We even had a German police car politely move out of our way when we signalled that we wanted to overtake. The slowest part of the journey was when we went over the border into the Netherlands and had to slow down (stupid speed limits!) - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.
