Your question is definitly hard to answer. I can say from working in a manufacturing area that web services over the next few years is going to be a major effort. The interest being taken by mid level managers is very high. Now keep in mind that that is the last group before things actually start to happen. Low level people are closer to the workers and then high level start to believe in magic, followed by the mid level who are accountable for the high level people's happiness. The old adage about consultants borrowing your watch to tell you the time has some foundation in truth. Many consultancies are hired by senior mgmt to write a report to propose what the snr mgmt wanted to do anyway, but it looks better coming for outsiders esp if it cost £50k. Don't believe me?
