Are you implying that, when new, no one laughed at them because they were merely stating the obvious?
Should I read your post for your sense of humour or your weakness in logic reasoning? ;P

Racist Joke of the dayZhat wrote:
I agree, they know nothing about great Chinese takie-Outie food.
You see, that's how it all started. Take-out food was the mother of all out-sourcing. Since the lazy Americans don't want to cook their own food, maybe there are a lot of other things they don't want to do. Let's throw in some strange accent to entertain them while they are eating and out-sourcing. ;P

Racist Joke of the dayYou guys got to be kidding. Those jokes are so old that they only serve the purpose of demonstrating how little you know about China and Chinese today. The last time I went to China, I saw many 7-10 year old Chinese kids on the streets talking with American visitors in English. It might be a good time for you guys to take some Chinese lessons, if you don't want to keep crying about jobs being out-sourced, blah, blah, blah...

I feel so disgraced...It doesn't make too much sense. Why would Singapore try to please the Chinese on this matter? They have been making the Chinese angry on all the other things including their (military) relationship with Taiwan. Falun Gong is known to make up and exagerate things to get publicity. Last time a Falun Gong member was attacked in South Africa, they claimed the attacker was hired by Chinese government. It turns out a few more chinese were attacked just before that and the Chinese Consulate had issued warnings to all chinese citizens living there.

Make a joke about Jesus's mom's virginity and you get the Christians. Make a Buddha joke and you get the Buddhists. Make a joke about US not finding WMD in Iraq and you get the Americans." Make a redneck joke he gets, hmm, himself ;-)

BlasphemyRussell Morris wrote: you must manually declare overloaded functions with the Overload keyword, due to case insensitivity VB (I believe) cannot always consume CLR compliant code because the CLR is case sensitive Case insensitivity seems to be an advantage, it makes the intellisense a lot more useful and saves a lot typing. Of course if someone stupid enough wants to use variable (or function) names that only differ in case, then the top priority should be getting rid of that person instead of making the code work. ;P Russell Morris wrote: VB.NET's Integer is 16 bits instead of 32 Totally false. Were you a VB programmer in disguise? ;P Russell Morris wrote: C# was built from the ground up as the high-level language to target the CLR - the other .NET-targetting languages have been hacked in. New doesn't mean better or useful. Without the support for other languages, .NET would be dead already.

How to save the environment after death (joke)The following suggestions were made at the annual meeting of "save the environment after death" committee: 1. Dead bodies should be stored in plastic bags (instead of wood coffins) to save trees. 2. Dead bodies should be stored in standing up position (instead of lying down) to save space. 3. Dead bodies should be buried only halfway in standing up position to save tombstones.

just read this about the the POW rescue in Iraq"i thought there would be like 20, tops." It takes more than 20 to make up a story like that. ;-) <Edit>Only the first 20 are elligible for the best actor/actress award</Edit>

just read this about the the POW rescue in Iraq"The big problem is that the media thinks they know more than they really do." The bigger problem is, the media know they don't know much but keep making up stories anyway.

400K members!"How could that we have a 8X jump? I only create 50,000 alternate usernames for myself last week" The explanation is, someone, who is apparently more active than you, keeps forgetting his/her new username and password.

Views on SARS?Marc Clifton wrote: One thing that surprises me though is I haven't read anything about SARS and children. I heard SARS does NOT seem to affect young children (not to the same degree as they affect grown ups), but they closed the schools in Hongkong just in case. The fatality rate of infected people is roughly 5%.

the prez and taxes"So my question is: is this not a little low?" Actually, most people pay a lot less (in percentage) than that. The more your report the more you will have to pay, note that it is not the same as the more you earn the more you will have to pay. How to earn a lot money without paying for taxes is the million dollar question. Some rich and not so rish people would say they paid more than their fair share of taxes. They believe or trying to make you believe that your income is your money and you are giving it away to support the government and the poor. But think about it, it is not and will never be your money, because you never have a choice on whether to pay it or not and you don't decide how much you are going to pay either, nor do you get more voting power in elections if you pay extra taxes. It's all politics driven by economics (greed).

Does .NET awe the non-.NETers?"the whole world seems to be looming with .NET" Hardly. Where I work there are still mainframe programmers, making great money by the way.

What the hell do I need a grid control for?Andreas Saurwein wrote: Looking at the most popular items on CP It is not grid control that makes it popular. It is very hard to judge an article and its attached code if the subject is about server communication or algorithm, etc. You literally have to download and set up the sample program on your machine to try it. If the setup process described in the article isn't fool-proof or the machine is missing a required component, most users will give up, unless they really need to use the code. An article about GUI, however, is relatively easy to read and judge. Most of them contain beautiful pictures, and one good picture is worth a thousand dollars (words), you know. May be that's why popular articles on CodeProject don't have to be useful, as long as they look good. P.S. There is no doubt that articles by Chris Maunder and Mike Dunn are useful and they look good, too (sucking up isn't that hard after all, :) )
