It all depends on what your project entails, what is it for, where will it be published and used, what devices is needed or is it aimed at etc.

I am not versed in React but I do know that it uses component-based structures (which is the new OOP I believe). You can apply OOP but that is outside my scope.

Your issue is on this line - db.query(sql, [image], (err, result) => {. There is nothing declaring [image], it looks like you are trying to upload the image into the database but you are suppose to upload it to your image folder, this is a fatal error which is why it crashes with no errors.
