I think it's because they already know it'll be a crappy release, and they want to stick to the pattern: XP - good Vista - Bad 7 - Good 8 - Bad 9 - Should be good, but it'll be skipped 10 - Bad

I'll reply to this post to take into context the discussion above as well, but my quote is actually from your first one:
Richard Deeming wrote:
There's not apostrophe in "puts", and it should be "him", not "himself".
Shouldn't that be "there's no apostrophe", or "there's not an apostrophe"? And no, my English is by no means perfect. Grammanize at will!

I believe that code block is not properly closed. I don't think you would want to debug that kind of error in a Javascript file...

I've stopped using the Yahoo Web UI a long long time ago, basically when my account started to get attacked almost weekly, and I always had to go through all that crappy process of unlocking (seriously, I think Yahoo has the least user-friendly account unlocking process of all free email providers). Have you ever tried recovering from a tablet or phone? It's nigh-on impossible. So, I deleted any sensitive information I might have stored there, changed the password to a 40-something chars, and left it like that. Last time I checked, I had some 4500(!!!) unread emails, most of which I suspect was spam. And about Google, I'm not a fan of their Web UI either, but as I have multiple accounts, I always keep them in Thunderbird, which I simply adore. Simple, clean, and does its job without much of a fuss, just what I need.

Hm, that might actually be a great idea as a contraception method. All the good things, without the bad ones!

Yeah, kinda does, but again I'm stuck with Warhammer references today, so that makes me think of this badelephant[^]

Really? I don't much see the point. You'd still have to go to it to put stuff in and get it out.
Yes, that is true, and I failed to explain why I would love that. I used to fight with my former girlfriend over how much time popcorn should stay in the oven. She always kept it about one min further than detailed in the instructions (she liked them well burned), and I would always go and stop the microwave, to which she would go and start it again, and so on. In that case, I was actually praying for a remote.

As well they should.I'd rather not respond to that, temptation for a sexist joke is almost unbearable...

Well, don't mind me, but i would looooove a remote control for my microwave...The more buttons the better too.
