What is MS definition of term "graph"?Touché :)

What is MS definition of term "graph"?My personal favorite comes from the SerialPort.Close()[^] method:
The best practice for any application is to wait for some amount of time after calling the Close method before attempting to call the Open method, as the port may not be closed instantly.
What is "some amount of time" because this has been a huge pain in my arse for way too long.

SimCity 3000 or 4?I re-purchased 4 from Steam not too long ago and had a great time - I was, sadly as it turns out, prepping for the current release. Running it in window'd mode seems to work best. As far as the new one goes, it's not that bad IF (and that's a big if) you get to play.

Father of the year award for life?I've not had the chance yet, but I really want to. My first car was an 1986 Z-28 and then I had a 2000 Z-28. Both sucked in the rain, but it was totally worth it. Based on your recommendation, I might have to go and rent one soon :D

Father of the year award for life?It actually does look really slick, but then again, I have been a Camaro fan for a long, long time.

Father of the year award for life?Well, he just got grounded, so I guess I can kiss that award good-bye. Kids! :)

Father of the year award for life? What would my soon to be 7 year old son do if I pulled up in the Camaro Hot Wheels Edition[^]? I'm thinking Father of the Year for life, or until he's a teen ager, which ever comes first :) .

Star Wars Lives On?So, I just ran across this while looking at the news, but apparently Disney is in the process of buying Lucasfilms. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Disney Buying Lucasfilms for $4.05 billion.[^]

Well then...I agree. It hasn't been too bad. I upgraded my machine at home the Saturday after the RTM released on MSDN and I really like it. There has been a little bit of a learning curve, but for the most part it's not nearly as bad as the press has made it out to be. Mrs. Wife likes it too and now she wants a Surface for school.

carriage returnI've had to do a bit of work printing to serial printers and instead of sending the string value to the COM port, you might want to use something along the lines of System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(string) for TxFrame and then append the CR (0x0D) LF (0x0A) to the byte array. It seemed to work for me.
