WinRar v 7z - and the winner is...One thing I would ask is... Is 7z making a solid archive, whilst you rar was making un-solid archive? I use rar over WinZip as I found rar with solid archive turned on makes a far smaller file than WinZip could. Also what size dictionaries were you using?

Smartphone recommendationWell I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and very happy with it... Not tried Office365 on it as don't have a subscription. But found the S-Pen useful for taking notes and that.

Much Sadness on The Home ServiceWell they still have the rest left... But I know what you mean I still greatly miss Cass and Green. It will be a sad another day when Zeb leaves, another one of the great R4 voices.

Apple: You really do write awful software. A Time Machine saga.Chris Maunder wrote: "I also can't simply copy the files over because Time Machine stored incremental backups in the series of folders so I would have to start at the first and copy over each folder, one by one, hoping to get them all, in the right order, and battling with file locks on the current mac as I copied them." As I understood it Time Machine made use of Hard Links (a new tech from Apple that UNIX and the rest stole using a different time machine ;P) so that each directory contains the whole snapshot of the structure at the time. When I new backup is made a copy of old directory is made, ie. it uses hard links to the data on the disk, and then patches the files that have changed by copying the data over and updating the new directory indexes to point to the new data when needed.

How absolutely bloody frustratingI agree, it likely to be cheaper and quick to get some guy at the top of Sim Li Square to have a go at fixing it.

Are these people completely insane? The whole region thing, as I understand it, is so they can release the films on DVD/BluRay at different times for different parts of the planet, so they came the same number of weeks after the film is shown at the cinemas. My other half is over there and has seen all the films I am still waiting to see, all because they are released 3months earlier there then here in the UK. So they can release the film just in Singapore just as it comes to the cinemas here.
