Hi... If one wants to access ODBC DataSource in ASP .NET, it must be "System DSN". Reason: ASP .NET WP is executed under separate limited right based user. If you will create the "User DSN", it would be fine for the windows based applications but not for ASP .NET as ASP .NET user (which is kind of passive) will not be able to access it. The easy way is with the System.Net.WebClient class, which has an OpenWrite method that you can pass a URL and "POST" (as the second param). Then you just write your &-delimited name/values pairs to the stream. This is just a wrapper for doing the same thing - in concept - using the WebRequest and WebResponse classes. Can you not descend directly from DropDownList instead of WebControl?? If not, then look up the help on the OnBubbleEvent method and override yet in your class. HTH, Simon.
