I think you may also check your PC power supply, sometimes, the Power supply became unstable due to life time. I don't know what's the model of your power supply. usually, you have to consider your power supply after any upgrade your pc hardware. I just have a quick look on your post, you should got two pc, right? using the power supply of stable one to run the other.

If you use the solution explorer, it'll highlight the current file, and if you hover the mouse over the tab, it'll show the full path... maybe consider using shorter names? like maybe acronyms ;)

you don't know the half of it ;) windows has been installed on this machine 4 or 5 times over the last few years, without ever reformatting, first on C: and then later on D: :~ the machine is in a slight mess as a result. i have had a new HD sitting on my desk for about a month now, but it took so long for the people in charge of ordering to get the media for a reinstall / upgrade that i started an urgent high priority job, and cannot afford the down time to reinstall everything from scratch until the project is over. i will embrace this oportunity to practice transending the stress and become calm at work *takes deep breaths* zen is the art of being at one with the two'ness

Yup been there, done it! When paper tape came out I remember thinking wow this is a REAL improvement over cards. But in those days you had to get the program to work correctly first time, as an overnight batch run did not give you a lot of help fixing 'bugs'. I still hate in when I hear people saying we have to spend X days finding bugs, I feel like hitting them and saying you **** the bugs are their because you put them there, take more care of the design and programming, and there won't be any bugs. But saying that I do fall into that trap myself these days, it is easy to hack the code, use a souce code debugger, 'fix' the bug and repeat! *ah* i ended up at this solution via randomly trying things, and the realisation that if i took a screen shot i could zoom right in on it, to find out what was going on :) its nice to see the proper reason for doing what i am doing :) thank you :rose: the screen shots show that the picture being generated is correct, and they also show that ClearType does not effect all text. being swayed by the advice to try a video card with digital out, plus lingering problems with my current video card not performing how i want in a couple of games i went and got a brand spanking new nVidia 6600 graphics card today to try :-D if nothing else it should work wonders for Lego StarWars :rose: however the card requires a 300 watt power supply, at minimum. i checked in the shop and was assured given my machine spec it was bound to have a power supply with a greater output. however it turns out the power supply only has a 250 watt output :~ i am going to ring the shop and confirm they can upgrade power supplies for me, and then i am going to just take my base unit, new monitor, and anything else i need, like mouse, into the shop this Saturday, and stay there until we work out what is going wrong. i have decided to accept that i just don't know the answer, and to instead ask people who should :) zen is the art of being at one with the two'ness
