Try this format, it has been successful for me (name and contact info centered on page): John Doe 1313 Mockingbird Lane Nowhere Town, USA (555) 555 - 5555 myemail@myisp.com SKILL SUMMARY Here you would place bullets (no descriptions just descriptive names) listing the languages, operating systems, systems and other skills you have. List items such as (if you have them) GUI design/development, multi-threaded applications, installation program (i.e. InstallShield) etc. List major software products your are skilled in using whether development tools or office software. A summary at the top of your resume listing the skills that you have is a real attention getter. It allows reviewers to quickly see in one, neat spot what this person can do. A big plus when reviewers are searching through tons of resumes. Often a secretarial or HR type is going through looking for specific buzz words and putting those that they see in the "keep pile". If they can't see the things they are looking for quickly, they may toss yours in the trash. The "keep pile" will go to the next person(s) to review more closely. EXPERIENCE HISTORY Company1 Name Title -- From Date to Present Description of responsibilities, Major accomplishments, etc. If you saved schedules from slipping, saved company money, etc. Do this for each company/position that you've had in recent history. Proof read carefully and multiple times. It always amazes me that when I proof read something (especially if I'm in a hurry), it is as if my brain reads what is supposed to be there in a sentence, when it really doesn't read exactly that way. So read slowly and carefully. Get others to proof it too. EDUCATION College Name, Degree, Graduation Date, special honors or societies that you belong to. Any additional postgraduate training that is applicable to the job for which you are applying. Be brief. Use phrases like "Performed ...." or "Conducted..." or "Established...". Do not use overly flowery language. And above all, CHECK YOUR SPELLING CAREFULLY. Do not include personal information about your life or personal interests. It is irrelevant. They want to know what you can do for their company and that's it! Good luck. WillCodeForMoney

America Strikes BackAnd they (terrorists) would still strike again and again whether we did anything or not in response. The weaker we act, the more we will be attacked. WillCodeForMoney

EnterpriseI think a LOT of people generally believe that DS9 was the best. I think it developed into a pretty good show with the Dominion war especially. Of course, after the battles with the Borg and the Dominion, Star Fleet can't have any ships left!!:) Maybe that's why they decided to make up a prequel series. :) WillCodeForMoney

Enterprise:-D :-D :-D :-D WillCodeForMoney

EnterpriseX| I can't stand those holodeck episodes either. Good grief. I was tired of it on Voyager. And I read an article lately that one producer/writer/something wanted to do more of them. X| Hey, when I want pure escapism, I watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer. WillCodeForMoney

Which programming task do you hate most? You would think that SOMEDAY they all might reach a point of fully supporting some standards so cross-browser development wouldn't be such a B-I itch. :) Then, there is that ever present worry of, "well, all of my target audience may not have the latest browser anyway." EnterpriseAlthough, that J. Frakes guy never did learn to act! :-D :-D :-D WillCodeForMoney

EnterpriseRegarding the emblem thing, like I said, tiny little things just catch my attention.:) Anyway, the references to NCC-1701 have being the first ship have mostly been in written form. There have been a lot of "technical manuals" and "encyclopedias" etc written that have been used as author guidelines. But I remember that Star Trek: The Motion Picture was also inconsistent in that fact. There is a scene with the bald chick on the rec deck and Decker is showing her images of past Enterprises and the board shows one in between the shuttle and NCC-1701 that looks nothing like the one on Enterprise. See? I have a sickness I tell ya! :-D :-D You are correct about the acting. I didn't like Kate Mulgrew at first either but she grew on me. She cleans up well too when she lets her hair down. ;) I love the Trek. But I may not watch the new one simple because I don't want to get involved in another series. I have too much to do. EnterpriseI haven't watched it yet (I taped it). But everything I've read and continue to read tells me that I probably will not follow the series. I think Roddenberry is rolling over in is grave. It seems so inconsistent with the established history of Star Trek. Yeah, I know. It's a TV show. But they have worked so hard over the years TRYING to be consistent and now they seem to have thrown all that out the window. Being a person to picks up on every technical error in a film :) I hate seeing things that are "wrong". There isn't supposed to be an Enterprise in that time frame (with the NCC-1701 being the first named Enterprise). I do not believe that there was supposed to be Klingon contact at that time (but I am not too sure on that one). We Romulans in this episode? I was told they are supposed to be in the series but according to the original series no one had actually seen one yet (until the original series) to know what they look like. Then again, I didn't like First Contact either. The character of Zefram Cochrane was completely different from that depicted in the original series. Then there is the issue of the Enterprise emblem being used for all of Star Fleet ever since the ST: The Motion Picture was released. In the original series, that emblem was specifically to identify crew of the Enterprise, with each ship having its own emblem/logo/whatever. See what I mean about picking up technical errors?:-D Hey, I don't mind making up stuff, artistic license and all that, but with a product such as the Star Trek saga, I would prefer that they stick to a level of consistency that a lot of people have put a lot of effort into creating and maintaining over the years with previous series. I'll watch the tape this weekend. I did flip over every now and then during commercial breaks and it looked like the acting was suffering. Now, do you want me to point out how many times the Dodge truck got trashed in the movie Twister and still looked sparkling new in the next scene? :-D WillCodeForMoney

The Evils of EncryptionWithholding encryption for export does little since the mathematical algorithms involved have long since been public knowledge. Someone with a little programming experience can still convert those algorithms to encryption code and encryption would still exist in the hands of the bad guys. And new algorithms continue to be invented by mathematicians. WillCodeForMoney

Bin Laden handover conditions setAgree. I am also troubled by the fact that there are so many people who seem to think that we will have solved the problem by getting Bin Looney. There are thousands waiting for a promotion and he would make an excellent martyr. And his is only one faction of a wide spread problem. Multiple terrorist organizations. We have got to go into every country supporting and harboring these nuts and take them all out. Of course, that will require the support of all nations to police their own lands -- with the knowledge that if they don't, their country will cease to exist. ;) Yes. Lots of people are going to die. Many Americans will die. Many will die if we do nothing. Many innocent people in those countries will die. War is hell. Simple as that. But sometimes war is necessary. And if there is someone in this country who is not willing to fight against all odds to defend this country, there are plenty of one way tickets available to other countries. I'll even give you a ride to the airport. WillCodeForMoney

No ConfidenceAgree -- If only it were that easy. I feel that, unfortunately, as long as such fundamental differences exist between our cultures and our religion that there will never be peace. There are those who will not rest until America and the American way of life, as well as Christianity and Judaism, are destroyed. And we have to protect our interests here and abroad. As well as those who request our assistance for we are the only significant power to protect many of the nations in our world. It is our duty as Americans and as human beings. I just hope that we have the stomach for the battles that are before us. WillCodeForMoney

Press reach new lowYou want to know what *&(*#@$&(@*$# LOW?! The slime balls that are abusing the web sites set up to help family and friends find out the fate of people caught in the attack. THAT is LOW! Also the (*&(*&@$# con artists that are already preying on the suffering in NY. WillCodeForMoney

Rebuilding the WTC:-D I like it. WillCodeForMoney

Press reach new lowAgree. There are too many reporters who simply have too few neurons firing in the ole cranium. ;P WillCodeForMoney

Rebuilding the WTCYou are probably right about that. I hadn't thought of the buildings in that light. I supported the continuing of major sports events and other activities that were cancelled for similar reasons. I thought that by displaying major recreational activities as continuing unaffected by the attack would have been a major message to the terrorists who seek to demoralize America. WillCodeForMoney
-
Rebuilding the WTCUnfortunately, with a fall from that height water may as well be asphalt. I suspect that, based on actions taken after past events of multiple deaths, that the area will most likely be made into a park with a memorial to those lost in the attack. Although I disagree with our tendency to put up a memorial for people lost in a tornado or hurricane (which has been done), I would support one to be built on the site of the WTC. This was a horrendous act of evil that must not be forgotten. WillCodeForMoney

A few stories from friends and neighborsI can believe the taxes and rent are too high. I'm surprised ANY business can afford to operate in that city. I've never been to NY. The farthest north I've been is the Washington DC and Reston, Va area. Man! I spent a few months there and that was enough for me! I was caught in rush hour traffic one workday coming out of the national mall and I didn't think I would ever see home again! :-) But the cost of living there was beyond anything I could have imagined in America. Maybe someday I'll visit NY. But I may have to have a few cold ones first. :-) WillCodeForMoney
