Cripes I was in Scotty-land a few years back ... and a friend of mine at work wears a kilt on occasion ... mostly because he is a jackass American who fancies himself pure Irish and plays the bodhrán .... he is tons of fun to be around ... but anywho while I was in Edinburgh I stopped in a tourist shop thinking it would be fun to get him a cheap sporran (I know what it's called now). At the time I didn't know the correct term so I went up to the counter and asked the "wee lassie" if they had any cheap fanny-packs! My English and Irish buddies were forcibly removed from the shop for pissing themselves!

Ha years ago I was flying from Boston to Las Vegas via Atlanta and Dallas Fort Worth. The DFW stop was to refuel, I guess, as we were not allowed off the plane. It was taking quite a long time and then the stewardesses started coming up the aisle with free drinks ... two hours later the pilot comes on the intercom and says that when the plane landed a piece dropped off and they were in the process of reattaching it. ... and hour later the pilot comes back on the intercom and states that when the part that fell off actually broke when it hit the runway and they were flying in a replacement part (from Atlanta the airport we just left). We all got vouchers for the DFW airport food court and 5 hours later we were on our way! :wtf:

Ain't that the truth. I used to work at a Naval ship yard and we used to joke that we were amazed that the ships came back up. Yeah submarines .... They always asked me if I wanted to tour one of the boats ... how cool it would be to go out for a cruise in one ... and I was like ... no I'm fine! Thanks! :omg:

I saw Sign Language and it reminded me of a funny story from this weekend. A good friend is deaf and she has been schooling me in sign language. Some of the signs are very obvious. Like Tommy K sauce is smacking a closed fist with the palm of your other hand as if you were trying to dispense the ketchup. So I made an assumption and made the sign for what I thought was pizza. My thumbs and index fingers touching in the shape of a slice of pizza. Come to find out this is the sign for a bit of female anatomy! Which tickled me pink ... as it were! ;) So I told this to a friend who was on his way to Rome for a job interview. He goes out for pizza in Rome (don't ask me why he wanted pizza in Rome) and a very beautiful waitress seeing that he was American tries to sign pizza along with her broken English. "you like my .... [sign for the dirty bits]?" Needless to say he had great fun with this and she was clueless! :-D

I remember being in driver education back in high school (yes my memory still goes back that far) I was in the back my best friend was behind the wheel and the instructor was riding shotgun. We were heading up the road at a descent rate of speed and ahead is a cross walk and there is a blind person crossing with a cane just stepping off the curb. Instead of slowing up my buddy guns it and tries to beat the blindy to the cross walk. I'm in the back seat freaking out and the instructor calmly stomps on the break. Tires squeal and the car comes to a dead stop right at the crosswalk and a bottle of Jack Daniels comes rolling out from underneath the front seat. That's how the instructor kept his cool! :omg:
