  • Message info the top of the message board no longer centered
    K Kristian Sixhoj

The message info at the top of the message board - the one that says "Msgs 1 to 50 of 3,243 (Total in Forum: 39,894)Refresh" - is no longer centered, it has moved a bit to the left (on Firefox 6.0b). Also, shouldn't there be a space between the closing parenthesis and the Refresh link? (picky picky picky ;P)

Hardware & Devices com help question

  • MP3 player issue - "Incorrect function"
    K Kristian Sixhoj

Hi, I have an mp3 player which I use for the radio in my car (much easier and faster than burning new CDs all the time). Today, the radio suddenly wouldn't read from the mp3 player at all (it has been an issue all the time, but most of the time it has managed to start playing from it). So I took it inside and plugged it into my laptop, which then started installing the neccessary drivers, which I thought was odd, as it had been plugged in before. Then, when I tried accessing the drive, it said:

F:\ is not accessible. Incorrect funtion.

No matter what I did, I couldn't get access to it. So, I tried plugging it into my other pc (which is running XP), and it said:

The disk in drive F is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?

When clicking Yes, another box appears saying:

There is no disk in drive F. Insert a disk, and then try again.

Is there any hope of rescuing it? If yes, how? Thanks in advance.

When hovering over the "Report member" link on a profile page, the popup that appears doesn't show as it should. The top part of it appears, but the rest of it disappears behind the message board at the bottom. On Firefox 4.0.

I'm not sure if you are already aware of this, but I just noticed that the rep points displayed in the popup are changing between 2-3 values each time it is displayed. In your popup it changes between 166,984 and 166,985, but your profile says 167,012.

When upvoting answers in the forums, you get the message "You voted 5. Rating now 5 (votes: 3). Message marked as answered." What exactly does the last part mean? Well, I understand what it *means*, but what happens? The thread/message doesn't seem to get changed in any way (for example, adding a check mark next to the subject line to show it has been answered), so I'm just wondering what the point of the message is. Just out of curiosity.

    K Kristian Sixhoj

Well, to be honest, I'm not a sound expert, so I'm not able to give a "detailed" description of the sound quality :) But I would say those headphones work well for most types of music, with a really nice bass and clear sound - I listen to a lot of different music, including rock and heavy metal, and they sound great no matter what you're listening to.

How much are you willing to spend? I have some headphones that almost work as earmuffs if you wear them while not playing music! They may be a bit overkill in your case though, they're a bit expensive. It's the Pioneer HDJ-1000[^] I'm sure there's a lot of cheaper alternatives, but I really recommend the Pioneers, they are really good! But if you're only intending to use them for VOIP calls and that kind of stuff, that might be a bit overkill :)
