I have a landline into my house and every member of the household has a cell phone. I started getting spam phone calls on the landline days after we moved to Florida and registered our vehicles with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), giving the landline number as our home number. A friend warned me that the DMV sells telephone numbers to spammers to supplement the tax income they get from vehicle registrations. My solution was simple: Hook the incoming landline to my printer, which has a fax function. I only use the landline for outgoing calls, anyway, and that function is still available. Now when a spammer calls, he gets a screetching fax in his ear. Those spammers are persistent little buggers! They have been getting my fax noise for 13 years, and still we keep getting their calls on a daily basis!
