We are trying to come to a conclusion on a SaaS product architecture, We want to discuss which architecture and development style should be preferred options Single web app : This will have a HTML5 based responsive/fluid layout making it possible to adjust / run on all devices like desktop, tablet and phones VS Web application for desktops + web mobile app using Kendo or similar controls We are actually doing POC to check if responsive layout has any restriction when it comes to web application development, any suggestions or points would be welcome Basic criteria 1. Development time + learning curve 2. Utilization of built in functionality of controls 3. Full browser vs mobile browsers limitations and functionality loss caused by one and others Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks Sagar

I need to create characters of the people as requirement of my application, I'm thinking of making cartoons from real life images, I see this done in some facebook application, how should I do this, I have done grayscale and that does not produce the result I need. Any advice ? :sigh: Also tried box blur filter, but effect is not as desired :(

Shared hosting servers will not allow you to change trust level higher than "Medium", you can replicate the same error on local machine by adding <trust level="Medium" originUrl=""/> in web.config. Sagar

Hi, I have created a custome control DLL for Survey questions, I deployed the solution on GoDaddy shared hosting, after working for 3 months it suddenly stopped. URL http://wsmysql.flexdna.com/home.aspx Error Says Required permissions cannot be acquired. I did use PermCalc.exe to find out what permissions are exactly causing this error, I can replicate the error on local machin by adding <trust level="Medium" originUrl=""/> tab If it is related to permissions why the hell it worked in first place. Anyways I used permcalc tool and it gives me following output, can some one give me a pointer as what exact permission this DLL needs Outout XML I have gone through various articles for configuring medium trust level web.config, but looks like I 'm working in some wrong direction, If I can nail what permissions are required, I can fix and request GoDaddy to allow them, or change the provider :( -Sanbox option for PermCalc.exe returns a blank XML!! What I need is a Custom Medium trust level settings which will allow this DLL permissions required or if I know what part has to be changed in code, I'll change accordingly. Thanks

I'm using SMTP classes and sending notifications from my application, When we run the application on test LAN (Local Setup)it works smoothly, so my SMTP settings are correct, But when we deploy our solution on hosting server (GoDaddy.com) none of the emails are going out. No exception, No Error ! Has anyone faced similar issues before. Thanks

A guy sits at a bar in a skyscraper restaurant high above the city. He slams a shot of tequila, goes over to the window and jumps out. The guy sitting next to him can't believe what he just saw. The other guy runs to the window and watches as the guy falls to just above the sidewalk, slows down and lands softly on his feet. A few minutes later, the jumper walks back into the bar. The other guy has to try it, too, so he orders a shot of tequila. He slams it and jumps out the window. As he reaches the bottom, he doesn't slow down at all. SPLAT! The first guy orders another shot of tequila. The bartender shakes his head. "You're really an a**hole when you're drunk, Superman."

you got to be sure about what your aim is and how much you want to put in, contracting is a safer option. If you are really thinking of getting in to business, be sure you have passion for it, doing business is way more than doing coding and showing output. as said earlier make sure you have some sure source of income. anyways, wish u all the best, I started my own firm after I quit from development job, Now I'm happy that I took that decision.
