"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."Can I add to the pedantry by saying that Tom Hanks spoke the line in the film and not Kevin Bacon :D

recommended tv & games for PS3My PS3 is connected to my 42" Panasonic Plasma screen :) everyone else I know who has LCDs always come in and go "Wow, the picture quality on your TV is way better than mine" :D As for Games I find FPSs a bit cumbersome on PS3 and prefer my PC for those. Tried Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 but its not the same as for the PC. 3rd Person Adventure games are prob best on PS3, Games like the two uncharted Games, Brutal Legend, GTA4, those would be my recommendation. Also the online store, Wipeout HD is a superb racer, and Super Stardust HD is a very addictve shoot em up.

But if you like shooters (like me) then the Xbox is better.
Lol, surely if you like FPS games, the PC is King! :P Console controllers are just too clunky, give me a mouse and a keyboard any day.

RockYou Hack Reveals the Worst 20 PasswordsPasswords are just a giant PITA tho. It bugs me that just about any site or organisation I go to that requests I use a password, all have a completely different policy on how the password is composed, some accept all alphanumeric characters, some don't, some specify a number at the start of the string, others at the end, it leads me to having a multitude of passwords, that, more often than not, I have to go through the rigmarole of resetting a password everytime I visit a site, because I cant remember the exact sequence of characters for that specific sites password. Now surely that is defeating the object of having a password in the first place. With that in mind, you can see why some people just use strings like "123456" as at least it is easy to remember. I wish someone would invent another way to protect access to your stuff on line.....

Remember, remember the 4th of July (gunpowder, treason and all men are created equal)An even better idea, would be to read it. Alan Moores work has a lot more impact in its original form. :)

Star Trek (new movie)For this film, I think they have put it being built on the land just to make the scene look dramatic rather than thinking about the actual physics of it.
-
Star Trek (new movie)Well, he had a red parachute outfit if I remember rightly :D

Star Trek (new movie)I thought it was a cracking good film too :) love the fact that the new actors have done a really good job of maintaining the characters. Bones is especially excellent. Being a Trekkie/trekker/trek-fan/whatever did not stop me enjoying this film. there may be inconsistencies, but there are also enough nods to the existing canon of star trek to not lose the whole concept. Classic example, the gung ho parachute guy... you just know whats going to happen to him ;)

How can I persuade the boss to do things differently? (VERY LONG WHINGE)Have you tried beating him half to death with his own shoes? lol

TeeVeeAgreed, We too have a Panasonic Plasma in the smaller 42" and it knocks the socks off of all the LCD screens I've seen. It bugs me that so many people have a downer on plasma, they are just as sturdy as any other screen display technology, but the picture quality is far superior :) :-D

LOLCODEI had to write COBOL when I was at college, and its about as close to readable english as you can get from what I remember. This just totally reminded me of my old days learning JSP and implementing it in COBOL :-D

Another benefit of this language is that you don't need to waste time on commenting your code. It's self-describing!
Isn't that what they said about COBOL????

Why oh why do recruitment agancies insist on stupid tests? In these times of economic turmoil though, with redundancies rife, it is sometimes useful to have a numpty developer buffer
