  • recommended tv & games for PS3
    M Member 4593559

My PS3 is connected to my 42" Panasonic Plasma screen :) everyone else I know who has LCDs always come in and go "Wow, the picture quality on your TV is way better than mine" :D As for Games I find FPSs a bit cumbersome on PS3 and prefer my PC for those. Tried Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 but its not the same as for the PC. 3rd Person Adventure games are prob best on PS3, Games like the two uncharted Games, Brutal Legend, GTA4, those would be my recommendation. Also the online store, Wipeout HD is a superb racer, and Super Stardust HD is a very addictve shoot em up.

Lol, surely if you like FPS games, the PC is King! :P Console controllers are just too clunky, give me a mouse and a keyboard any day.

  • RockYou Hack Reveals the Worst 20 Passwords
    M Member 4593559

Passwords are just a giant PITA tho. It bugs me that just about any site or organisation I go to that requests I use a password, all have a completely different policy on how the password is composed, some accept all alphanumeric characters, some don't, some specify a number at the start of the string, others at the end, it leads me to having a multitude of passwords, that, more often than not, I have to go through the rigmarole of resetting a password everytime I visit a site, because I cant remember the exact sequence of characters for that specific sites password. Now surely that is defeating the object of having a password in the first place. With that in mind, you can see why some people just use strings like "123456" as at least it is easy to remember. I wish someone would invent another way to protect access to your stuff on line.....

For this film, I think they have put it being built on the land just to make the scene look dramatic rather than thinking about the actual physics of it.

  • Star Trek (new movie)
    M Member 4593559

I thought it was a cracking good film too :) love the fact that the new actors have done a really good job of maintaining the characters. Bones is especially excellent. Being a Trekkie/trekker/trek-fan/whatever did not stop me enjoying this film. there may be inconsistencies, but there are also enough nods to the existing canon of star trek to not lose the whole concept. Classic example, the gung ho parachute guy... you just know whats going to happen to him ;)

Agreed, We too have a Panasonic Plasma in the smaller 42" and it knocks the socks off of all the LCD screens I've seen. It bugs me that so many people have a downer on plasma, they are just as sturdy as any other screen display technology, but the picture quality is far superior :) :-D
