Is it good idea to quit CS for a job? (Bored to death)That sounds good. But is not always the case. I have 20 + years of Senior Dev experience. I have ran into a number of companies that would even talk to me without a degree even with a Secret Clearance and creating a project from scratch that is still in the market. Fortunately not all, I just landed a job as a Lead Dev. Many companies HR is really IR (Inhuman Relations). It is HR that in many times make the degree mandatory. The could

Is it good idea to quit CS for a job? (Bored to death)In the past year or so, I ran into an uptick of jobs require the degree. I don't have one so was passed over. The degree is pretty much useless on what you will be doing.

Cosmetic vs More EfficientSeen to many times where efficiency is the winning choice for code that is only hit a few times. Efficiency usually only matters on code that is hit 100s of thousands of times or more. Clean Code Rules!!!!!

This is what you get when you have junior programmers write an application in .NET CoreWhere was the Lead. The person in charge is to blame, not the junior devs. Mentoring, Design reviews, standards.

Thinking of building a new desktop computer for my workGet quiet fans and get a water cooler and make sure the case will fit the water cooler. I love my quite computer. I would go with 32MB ram. I usually get lower end gaming boards, for the performance. I also buy components where the price drop from latest and greatest to next tier. Great performance with the high cost of having the latest and greatest. The largest fastest SAN Is $$$$$$$, the second is $$$$$$ and the third is $$ something like that.

User Control - Dependancy property MVVMUser Control: 1. Dropdown box of States (not all states, list from database via View Model. 2. A listbox of Counties based on state selection. The county name for county and the code for the county is what the parent forms will bind to the code for the county selection. State abbreviations will be used for both state selection and selected value. Various forms need the user control to get state and County and bind to the database selection. I know how to set up MVVM. And can write the VM and Model with data access. I have not set up the view model yet I want the user control to handle the logic of the state and county selections here is the xaml: Code behind VB, but help in C# is apricated. Namespace Controls

Add login button to MVC home pageThank You. Exactly what I needed. Both examples gave me a better understanding of the how the view refers to the controller. Sorry for such a basic question. I'm sure my questions will get more sophisticated in time. The move to MVC from WPF is much harder than I imagined.

Add login button to MVC home pageI know there are many ways to do most things in programming. I created an MVC app with Identity - Individual account. I want to keep the main menu login and just add an alternate login button/link on the homepage. Wish I could be more specific. Searches just bring up "Custom Login Pages", which I am not trying to do.
