Drivers are really the big hurdle with using a 64-bit OS. I can't recall any apps failing to work at all on the XP x64 system that's my main dev machine. I might ask why the second & third part have 'GROUP BY' & 'HAVING' clauses when there is only 1 field selected and it is not an aggregate. I also question the counting of distinct dates in the first query. Can't an officer handle more then one open/closed/cancelled transaction per day?

That doesn't help me much. For each of the columns you have a COUNT() on it will always return 0 or 1 (counting each non-null, and since you don't have anything to group the aggregation by it there will always be just one row to be counted) Give me an example with data in your table and what you'd like the output to be - That will be helpful. Here are some posts from people I know who live in southern Florida (Hard Rock Cafe pin collectors). There is a big pin collectors get together in at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas this week, so many of the Floridian's were trying to catch flights... ======================================= We are very lucky to still have power. Over half of the residents in Broward county are still without power. The storm is still coming through north of us, our prayers are with you guys. The airports in South Florida (Miami and Ft. Lauderdale) are opened this morning, so hopefully my flight to Vegas will leave. See you all in Pindex, and those of you in Florida, hope you got as lucky as we did here in Broward. ======================================= I was also lucky because I only lost power for 1-2 minutes. However, my cable service got zapped early this morning. I couldn't sleep because of the howling wind, so I turned the TV on to drown out the noise a bit. Then we had a power surge, and goodbye cable. I live in north Broward county, and it looks like my neighbors just to the north in Boca and on up the coast suffered much more than we did. This was my first hurricane in the 4 years I have lived here. I also hope other Florida collectors are okay. ======================================= Frances was a crazy storm for us in Palm Beach and very scary last night. They call it, you ride it out, well we rode it out as they say in the closet, in the den, in the bedroom, at times the winds were over 100mph with sustained winds of 90mph+ for over 4 hours. The rain was hard, debris were hitting the back of our house very hard. Tree's were falling everywhere in our community. One landed on my car!! We still have no power, no phone and no water pressure. They expect to be out for days. We tried to leave for vegas on 7 different flights all to be cancelled, The WestPalm and Ft Lauderdale airports are still not open. We drove to Miami tonight to try to get on their only flight standby. If we didn/t make it we couldn't go back home because of curfew. Needless to say we made the stand by flight and are now in Las Vegas in air conditioning, TV, internet, phone service all those things we take for granted... ======================================= Steve

What is public knowledge is that .NET can be used to created Extended Stored Procedures, not T-SQL replacement stored procedures. MS Research is working on an inline .NET language T-SQL replacement, but no MS BU has taken up the project, yet. Cheers Mike Johannesburg, South Africa

Well, I found what the problem was, I created the partition using a Win98 boot disk through FDISK, I guess when this is done the OS gets a little confused between FAT32 and NTFS file system format. The problem was taken care of by booting from the CD and formatting with the util built into the WinXP build. Thanks All for your helpful replies. Tony

I have ‘Real World XML Web Services By Yasser Shohoud’ and have gotten a lot out of it. This book is aimed at VB and VB.Net programmer if you don’t fall into that category I would try something else. My one complaint about the book is the examples do not get complex enough. There are some sample chapters and articles by Yasser at http://www.learnxmlws.com/learn/tutors.aspx. A second book I have is ‘Applied XML Programming for Microsoft .NET by Dino Esposito‘ it is a very good in-depth book about XML programming, it doesn’t touch web services as deeply as Yasser’s book but it has a lot of good stuff in it. All the code in the book is written in C#. In learning how to program web services I still have had question that I wasn’t able to answer with the books but I think you will have that with ever thing. Both these books are aimed at .net web services so keep that in mind when considering them. Note, just because I think these are good books doesn’t mean you will agree. I say that because Yasser’s book had several good reviews on amazon and one horrible one. Basically it comes down to were the books worth the $30 I paid for each of them, yes. Jason W.
