Its hardly a complete answer, but I think the res: protocol for urls may be of help. I know its used for things like CHM, etc, so it may be helpful to you - at least for html, if not for your mp3s. Can you not extract the resources to a temporary file (GetTempFilename), play / use that temp file, then tidy up when you're done? If you're not sure when the external app is finished with (eg) your mp3, you could open it with DELETE_ON_CLOSE flag (going from memory here) Iain.

I think the file you have opened didnot get closed so First close the file using CloseHandle or fclose.

The dll also has a def file but that's hardly helped since it mentions what functions are there but not the paramters :-(

Umm, in creating an application tht uses the dll. Would you mind checking back here after say about 12hours while i dig around a bit more in CP and search for an application that uses DLLs to perform an operation and work from there? If i can make it work, i'll post an update.:-) I tried using the dumpbin but i kept getting an error mspdb70.dll is missing and that re-installing might help. Any tips on this one?

Ok, I figured out how to use CLabel for my program. However I dont quite know how to use the SetLoadCursor(LoadCursor.....). I keep getting c2664(if I remember correctly) which says that it cannot convert parameter 2 fm int to ..... The thing is that I add the hand.cur to the Resource under the Cursor resource and then pass it as the 2nd parameter. . Am i doing something wrong? -- modified at 7:37 Wednesday 25th January, 2006
