Years ago when the kids were little and we lived in the country on a lifestyle block, the kids had pet lambs for training for school agriculture events. They didn’t end up in the deep freeze but we had to find homes for them to live out their days living on green fresh grass. So the theory went! Probably ended up in someone’s else’s freezer.

In some places this is a type of scam as because when you answer they hang up. If you ring back the number you can be charged excessive call costs and hence how they make there money.

I’m in the same situation. One good thing we can do at my work is ease into retirement. Presently I have voluntarily moved to 4 day week, and I can at my discretion drop further days and slowly transition work to other people. After working for nearly 50 years I would hate to go from a 5 day week to nothing all at once. Sounds good in theory but I fear in reality it wouldn’t be. Hence I see this as a training period and readjustment of my lifestyle for retirement.

SSRS have a subscription option where you manage the published reports and have the report emailed to whoever at a scheduled time. The SQL server needs to be setup for email. (SSMS - Maintenance - Database Mail) This is available on the standard version if you have the appropriate rights.

I feel your pain. I've owned tons of cars since I started driving 50years ago and the two most unreliable cars I've ever owned were both VW. And in that time I have had only one cars give me transmission problem. And yes it was a DCT which had to be replaced under warranty. A few years later it started to show the same symptoms again so we got rid of it. I know people will have different experiences but that is just mine. So now, I would never own a DCT car or a VW or any of its many derivative brands again.

The problem is not limited to CEO's. CIO also get sucked into this to justify bigger and bigger budgets for their own self esteem. Interesting Note about BizTalk as I had the exact issue about 10 years ago. When BizTalk gave us issues I told them that if the issue is not fixed before I wrote my own interfaces I would throw it out. My one is still going strong and is extremely reliable.

Everyone at our work has motorised standing desks. They good even if you don’t use the standing function very often. I have set the heights so that in the standing position I can fit the chair under the desk. The big advantage for the IT support people is they can easily raise the desk for easy cabling underneath.

What emotional dribble. New Zealand for the last 18 months have pretty much been able to live very normal lives without much concern for COVID. The lockdowns are part of that fight for our freedom! Modern day softies have lost sight of the need to fight and protect your country’s freedoms and are now too concerned with petty self interests.
