Although this may come off as a bit of a disreputable question/topic, i've intended this to be approached as a more scientific discussion, if that is at all possible here, with the resident Soapboxians being used to the current scope of topics, which i believe needs to be given some rest, as they've become a little too stale. I remember quite fondly the psych-ology/iatry discussions that have been a staple of a forum i've used to call me "home" three or four years ago, until the place had broken up and i left along with many others. One of the members the discussions revolved around was actually studying for his PhD in Psychology which made conversations like this much more interesting. I doubt we have anyone like that here, but that shouldn't make this any less interesting, as the sheer number of interesting people here should make up for the difference in one way or another. And finally the "question"... Just to warn you, the human mind has always been of interest to me and i tend to think about and analyse the things i see, often regardless of how "unsightly" their nature might be to the avarage person. Even if it hadn't helped me better understand the myself and those around me, at the very least it keeps me from getting bored ;). One of the things that i've seen and kinda taken note of, is that many people that have S&M tendencies and tend to have gender disassociation/alternate sexuality, often have suffered sexual abuse as children. To be more precise, i've noticed that if there's any two of these "traits" present, there's something of a 70% chance of the third being present as well, regardless of which i'm aware of at first. While i realize that there's many people out there that have either one of these traits alone and not even a hint of others, i still notice that they often come up together, and i've wondered for some time as to which one is the "chicken" and which is the "egg", and which typically appears first. And i do realize that with this thread i risk getting cast into hell by certain Soapbox ideologues, but i've decided it's worth the risk really...they don't own this place on Sundays, while they are somewhere else ;P Roswell :)
