There are many file managers available for both iPhone and iPad. You can store any type of file in these applications and they support viewing of most common file types. I personally use File Manager Pro[^] but since this is one off thing you can try to find something cheaper. To copy files from PC to this application both iPad and PC must be on the same Wifi network. Simply launch the application, select the option to transfer files over Wifi and the application will provide you with a link. Open this link on PC and you will see a webpage which allows you to upload files. Once files are on iPad, you can choose to save them to camera roll. -Saurabh

If you still have backup then you can get the information. The messages are stored as SQLite database in a file in Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup. The exact name of the file you have to find for yourself. -Saurabh

Well if you are implying that she was humoring me then you couldnt be more wrong. The advice was based on personal experience but I didnt wanted to give the background. Once I had to get my ear cleaned and after the procedure I had lot of water in one ear. I was asked to hop on my leg and water instantly came out. -Saurabh

Forgot to mention there is also http://www.pazera-software.com/products/zune-video-converter/[^]. It also works very well and I have used it a lot for converting videos for my phone. It also uses ffmpeg for converting vidoes. Actually ffmpeg is the defacto standard software for converting video for most of the softwares out there. If you want to go thought the huge number of command line arguments it provides to find the one for you need then you can just write a script to convert all videos you have. -Saurabh

There are couple of annoying things about it, like it opens a webpare everytime you close the software. So I just rebuilt the software from source. I run Autocad Maya, Photoshop and visual Studio on Windows 7 with only 2GB of RAM. So far there are no problems because of memory. -Saurabh
