I've run into the same issue, and have even had a couple of site members (rightly) downvoting the incoming non-programming articles because, well, they don't have anything to do with code. :) An example of one that came in from my blog: http://theycallmemrjames.blogspot.ca/2011/01/got-my-phonesamsung-focus.html[^] Just a note, too. A whole bunch of these came in all at once after a site update some time ago. Most of the posts were 6+ months old and just appeared one day.

It's posts like this that truly make me believe in the concept of 'soul bros' I feel your pain, man. If there is a discount on those devices count me in. Polish up the resume and just have it ready. Don't go looking, but if something comes up, be ready.

Check you local paper, and ping the French department at the college and any local universities. We have two conversational French groups here that meet once or twice a week for coffee to just talk, often at a local bookstore or downtown coffee shop.

Yeah, mostly, thanks for asking ;) Our city is a mess though, and no plans to rebuild much this year. They're expecting more of the same next spring.

So Apparently I hit 20k on the profile and Platinum on Authority...does that mean I'm a regular now? Or do I have to work my way up to 100k? I used to make fun of DD for chasing milestones. Now I'm considering time off of work to comment and up/down vote content.

I've heard before that this may be the future, but I can't believe it's already manifesting in such frequency. There was a similar event locally not too long ago. I'm just not wired for this, though. I mean, come on, being a voyeur into a digital window of a virtual space with simulated characters crafted by complete strangers? I'd prefer to lace up the skates and shoot some pucks at the community centre, myself. Like, with real humans.

Okay, so I'm trying to be a good .Netizen here, but I've been fighting with non-descript errors and no clear answer as to what approach to take. I'm trying to use Database first, but I'm getting nowhere fast. I want to take advantage of the free client-side validation in ASP.NET MVC3, but this seems completely lost when using EF. Am I missing something? Even a simple thing - like nvarchar(6) - is being overlooked. The tool-generated code doesn't spit out things like [StringLenght(6)] (from System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations) so it seems that you've lost all client-side validation, no? Is there a way to turn it on? To have the EDMX generate the appropriate attributes? To track down the so-called "magic unicorn" and ring it's silver-blood-filled little neck? end slash venting.

Yeah, ours is expanding its grocery section and is already open 24 hours a day for 3 months of the year. They've driven out most pharmacies, small vehicle repair shops, oil change places, book stores, corner stores, etc. Our downtown is 1/3 empty. If there's any beauty to it, our downtown is high and dry and Walmart is going under.

No kidding...gives us something to do. They closed Wal-Mart, so you know it's serious. And hey, if you ever want to have velvety soft hands, just move to a flood plain and help sandbag. Smooth as the arse of a baby.

Not to rain on your parade

lol...that made me smile. The aggregate collection of that rain is more the problem...so 30mm of rain isn't a big deal on the river, but the 800kms of tributaries collecting the ground water from the surrounding areas and piping it our way ain't too pretty to think about. Thanks for the well wishes. If you like, we also welcome canoes and other small watercraft as gifts.

Our river usually flows at 400 cubic feet of water per second. It is now at over 40,000 cf/s ...which is just about half of the flow of NIAGARA FREEKIN' FALLS. Insane. Rain's let up, which is good. Army's here now, about 700 personnel deployed to the area to help with sandbagging and dike construction. I won't clog up the lounge with new threads, just thought I'd post a quick update. Cheers. Update: here's a home in the evacuated area: that's how we roll[^]
