When I was a kid, back in the day (I'm 82 now) we called them "camcer sticks". Yea, people were aware of the hazards back then. We also knew they "stunted your growth :-)

Is my site being hackedSounds an awful lot like the messages I've been receiving although I haven't been able to track down whoever it is that's trying to access it.
-
Is my site being hackedI've played around a little trying to see if the site was vulnerable to SQL injection and Asp.Net seemed pretty resistant. Admitted, I'm not much of a hacker and I'm sure an accomplished credant could be much more effective. At any rate, the sites URL is "TRTDevelopment.com".

Is my site being hackedThanks again, I'll take a look at the event log and see if I can decipher anything.
-
Is my site being hackedThanks for your kind response. I'll see what I can do to get mor information from the Asp.Net errors

Is my site being hackedYes, I did pose the question in "Quick Answers" and immediately got a response that the question was incomprehensible. I have no idea as to how to improve a one line question "Is this typical of what one might expect if someone was trying to hack my site"? If, as you say, there was not enough information provided to make an assessment a courteous response might be; "I can't provide an opinion from the information you provided". Thanks anyway for interest, I'm just trying to understand if this is what to expect if someone's trying to hack into a web site.

Is my site being hackedThanks for your response. Yes, the query string works fine. The database is accessed through entity framework and upon investigation I've seen no evidence that the code has been tampered with or the database compromised. It's just that I keep getting messages like or similar to this. My site doesn't get a lot of attention, I'm about the only one using it other than that suggested by these error messages :-)

Is my site being hackedMy web site logs errors and sends an email message describing the problem in somewhat obscure language. I am occasionally receiving messages typified by that below. Is this the type of message one might receive if someone was attempting to hack into the web site? Message This is an invalid script resource request. Stack Trace at System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContextBase context, VirtualFileReader fileReader, Action`2 logAction, Boolean validatePath) at System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler.System.Web.IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) Query String d=njmawteo3ipnlaxl6cmhvlkspbusrxmkxa1iykyaa6ai3i1qiv5vx38dmrzxfso2kqycu_7uhspkbsp842_8bihim1pzn_ddot0vh3trpfru4c2d1z8lhkcsydgglcunrefilo08fevvlx4xtlphhp-qrz6croqkb406ea6ri9g1&%3bt=ffffffffeea0dba9

Plugging Gaps - a QueryVery similar story. I had one formal course in Fortran some 50+ years ago. Then did some Basic programing throughout my career. Upon retiring I started with VB6 and then, about 5 years ago C#. I'm trained as a scientist, not engineer: we experiment and our not very good designers. Makes for being bad programmers :-) I really do feel the gaps I have in knowledge and have found OOP particularly difficult to comprehend. A whole new way of thinking for an old guy :-)

You're Not going to believe what I tell youThe way this thing was put together is incredible. Who would read it if it were just one big document of words. Very nice way to put together some abstract position :-)

Basic question about where to start...Yes, very similar backgrounds and experience although I took up relearning how to program ( from a Fortran/Basic background) as a hobby after I retired in order to keep my mind busy. After about 6 years of C# only now am I getting a inkling as to how interfaces are used. Yea, I'm kind of a slow learner :)

Basic question about where to start...Quote:
though the framework it uses will take months to learn thoroughly
Years. I was in the same situation about 6 years ago and chose to go with C# over VB.NET. I'm happy that I went in that direction but have yet to really understand the framework. It takes a whole new mind set and thinking process to become proficient in Object Oriented thought processes and getting old doesn't help with that :|

First ProgramsAnd you had to put those JCL cards on top which generally I got wrong and after several hours waiting for the print out all I got was some incomprehensible error code in hex.
