Richard A. Abbott wrote: I truly can't see our political and financial masterminds ever permitting that kind of dramatic failure to occur. They are, I am afraid, not all powerful. It appears that the governments of most modern countries have become addicted to solving the problems of today by attempting to increase the money supply faster than inflation can restore balance. But the curve grows ever steeper and ther comes a point where it might as well be straight up. At that point comes a collapse, whether the leaders or the majority of citizens wish it, or not. I like that one. You know - I read an interview with the writer of Alex once where he said that he thought that Alex would run out of steam within a year because it was seen as being too anarchic for the City. Umpteen years later, kids from University were telling him how they'd decided to get into banking because of Alex. "WPF has many lovers. While in principle I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said, executing him in this way would make a "martyr" out of him to others like him. Sending him to Jordan would be the right thing to do because he will be judged. Also, HR is not the local police's forte.

Don't forget how he attempts, and IMO fails miserably, at showing off his linguistic prowess by trying to make what he says as cryptic (no relation to the fantastic CCC by our very own Dalek Dave!) as possible and in so doing brands himself an idiot.

bulg wrote: Simply, that discussing such an issue on a state-wide level sounds like arm-chair philosophy, and that I would suggest the importance of climate & geography. Dude. You really need to read what I initially said. I was discussing affordability. It is my opinion that prices in CA are completely detached from reality regardless of the location. I am not arm-chair philosophizing about it, I have been knee deep in it since 96 when I moved to San Diego to work at QualCom (and moved 3 years later to work at TI). I still own a house in Rancho Bernardo that I rent out. Up until just last year I was constantly getting ridiculous offers from people who wanted to buy the house even though it wasn't for sale. People were buying homes there on 50 year notes that they still couldn't afford. I agree that the climate in a few places in CA is awesome but most of central and southern CA is identical to every other big city except you get a few beaches. I suppose. But for a professional programming website, there are bound to be some people who are quite insulted by the title. I don't care if it's the Soapbox, racist garbage is unnecessary.
