So, your's is an argument from authority. I don't really care about the whys of classification. The real issue is are the reasons chosen to classify specific documents valid. Often they are not, hence to need for whistleblowers.

So where is the "hundreds of years of understanding and temperature reconstructions" in this? I'm still trying to locate "Herschel, 1812" but lacking a fuller reference makes it pretty nigh impossible. I suppose I should have spelt it out for him. After all, there were two bills in the quote: HR 5741 and that of February 2009. So either I was providing the Title of bill H.R. 5741 or that of February 2009. Given that the Title of H.R. 5741 is in the body text of his original post, it was perfectly reasonable (for him) to suppose that I had tried to find the Title of H.R. 5741. It was understandable that he did not recognise the Title quoted as being that of the bill of February, 2009. He knows so little of what he posts. On second thoughts, the role of draught excluder might be beyond him. Bob Emmett New Eugenicist - The weekly magazine for intelligent parenting. The more lights he sees the more he adjusts. All very well you might say but doesnt take into account the mirriad of stations in small towns which are badly located. Take a look at surfacestations.org of you want more proof of this. As for using your data to show that a record high has been accheived, how many years of data do you have and what instrumentaiton or locaiotn changes have there been during that period? ;) Morality is indistinguishable from social proscription

It's not "Man is destroying the planet and we're all going to die" versus "Everything's fine and we can all go home." The real truth is somewhere in between, and the question is exactly where. But since the issue has been so politicized, the general public has split into two camps, and no longer pays much attention to the actual scientific debate. Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Really? So that's why I'm hardly involved in politics enough to know who I even agree with to vote for them? If anything you're obsessed with it. I see it as a tool, particularly a tool I'd rather not left in the hands of idiots. Nothing greater than humanity, just another product of it.
