Interesting link. I agree that the personhood rights of corporations should be curtailed considerably from what they currently are. If it was true, why not let them vote in elections, too? X| It should be easier to bring meaningful criminal prosecutions against the officers and board of directors since ultimately some person is giving direction. Make a few examples and things would probably improve quickly. No more hiring ex erotic film stars as marketing consultants. Once you agree to clans, tribes, governments...you've opted for socialism. The rest is just details.

Ok. Kinda figured it would be that way. Some things are somewhat comforting. If I have accidentally said something witty, smart, or correct, it is purely by mistake and I apologize for it.

But think of the money they can make just selling heat from lava in the form of electric! Heck, they have more hot springs and crap than they know what to do with. Morality is indistinguishable from social proscription

Yes, exactly, which is odd, and to me shows that the computer model is up the creek, because seriously, how can one have a long term 6 degree rise in temperatures in one region, with a 1 degree drop in another region 4 times the size? That ISNT supposed to be the effect of CO2, in fact I cant think of any thing that might cause this short of somehting like the gulf stream suddenly starting up. But without major continental movement this isnt likely (as in the current gulf stream that warms north west europe being supposedly caused when the american continents met. ) Morality is indistinguishable from social proscription

Am I to take your lack of response as a concession to my superior arguments? Have you realised now that your arguments are both ill-conceived and indefensible? Are you too ashamed or just mentally incapable to articulate how worthless and nonsensical your beliefs are?

wolfbinary wrote: Did you know that we used to have an income tax rate of 92% for the top 1%? In the idealistic conservative 50s none the less. I love bringing that up. Funny how people fail to notice how prosperity for the nation at large can often be tied to a narrow gap between rich and poor. Less class strife when there is less of a class difference, less social agitation when there are fewer social irritants. wolfbinary wrote: Most of us are just so busy with our everyday lives that we vote thinking that this guy is better than the other guy because he's not this or that. I'm don't think it's their differences we should be so interested in but their similarities because the two parties are very similar. To be fair, I voted for Obama because his policy proposals showed signs of realism and planning, where as I could always tell where the 8 years were over by McCain's projections as they all spiked after that. For what he was handed he's done a fair job, If anything I wish he and the democrats had grown a damn spine and taken the republicans to task on a number of the issues which have come up. But when it comes to the party at large, you really can't expect much difference and still have them able to achieve any serious power. They pull reps from every part of the country, for where they come from they're biased in the party's political direction. Given that nature the political mid ground of the nation is always going to be the primary factor in policy making. If you want to change how the country is going politically you're going to have to shift that middle ground, and in a culture where things like facts and reason are thrown out the window for blind political screeds I don't have the slightest clue what you would have to do to pull it off.

Yes, its shoddy. Damn shoddy. But thats the reality with the whole of AGW science. Its shoddy work. Bad methods, poor process, corrupted data, all done intentionally to show something that isnt there (not that I am saying warming isnt there, but the extent of the warming has been distorted). And in fact the enquiries into for example Manns Hockey Stick graph have stated exactly this. Morality is indistinguishable from social proscription

I've assumed it is/was common in Oz, but don't know. Having just reread all the Grimes stories recently, it was nice to see it in another context.

Russia and Pakistan. And thats her argument? One, a country that has only existed for 50 years, so no surprising its the worst flood in its history (but dont forget where flood plains come from and why people like building on them). And as for Russia, last I heard it was the worst for 130 years. She says 1000. Which is clearly a lie since records dont go back that far. Anyway, so what? Its the coldest july in the arctic on record, and as I am sure you know Australia has been breaking cold records this winter. (As well as south america). So its climate, it changes, its natural, its normal. There is still no evidence whatsoever that man made CO2 is having any effect at all on temperatures.
