You are on the right track. But like Chris suggests oneday we might be making quantum type processors. If we go below the molecular level to atomic and then to sub particles. Imagine a transistor group state that is defined by the spin of a sub-particle. :-) So giving the engineers some leeway that they will manage to create even more transistors per cubic unit in the future. Will a Time Paradox occur oneday and if so what will cause it ?
