Nitron wrote: The US appearently decided to mind its own business for a change. Why does the rest of the world care? It's not a US problem, right? Isn't that how the world wants the US to react? I had noticed how apathetic most nations were to dealing with North Korea. China says that they're very concerned, but won't get involved in negotiations with North Korea, leaving it to the US to deal with. I'm guessing that if China doesn't negotiate, they won't have to make concessions (which the US will be left to do) -- an example of these concessions: the US has been providing FREE food and oil for North Korea for years in return for them abandoning their nuclear program. The name of the game is "leave it to the US" and them bitch about the fact that the US is playing the role of global policeman. ------------------------------------------ "What happened in that Rhode Island club is shocking. NCAA = National Collegiate Athletic Association (or something like that) Its College Basketball. I mainly like to watch Division I which are the larger schools like Illinois, Duke, Arizona, North Carolina, etc. IMO, college basketball is much better than the NBA. :-D Maybe we can start a class action lawsuit. (BTW, to get back to a thread from ages ago, I think you asked if lawyers can actually sue for you without you knowing about it. Yes. It's called a class action lawsuit. You need a certain number to file, then they troll about finding "victims". I've gotten several letters over the years: "you may eligible for compensation if... Join our class action lawsuit..." type BS.) Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator. Pakistan needed to make a huge total to increase their run rate to qualify for S6 and the way some of their "world class batsmen" like Inzamam were batting(or not batting ;P) I would not be surprised seeing them lose to zimbabwe without the rain, rain saved them more embarassment. Infact its dissapointing for the English not making to the supersix after their amazing performance against Aussies, if they were playing in Zimbabwe, they would have been in S6. Jonny Newman wrote: I still think its [edit]funny* ironic[/edit] that the US is so anti-WMD when it is the only country to have used them against another country. (Hiroshima Nagasaki) Har har. Aren't we funny. The Germans were the first to use chemical weapons (WWI). Biological weapons are very, very old - going back to when armies would catapult corpses (dead from contagous diseases) over the walls of cities they had under seige. In more modern times, the Japanese in WWII put infectous disease into the water supply of the Chinese. And, despite the fact that the US has been involved in a number of wars since the atomic bomb was dropped, the US hasn't used atomic weapons in those wars (example: Korea and Vietnam). The proliferation of nuclear weapons means a continuous lowering of the situations in which they will be used. The US has shown its resistence to using nuclear weapons in the case of Vietnam. No one can expect that other countries will show the same degree of restraint. ------------------------------------------ They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin In an encampment expecting daily attack from a powerful enemy, self-preservation is paramount to all law. - Thomas Jefferson

Yeah, there were some questions about the authenticity of their report a few days ago. Many of the questions revolved around the european/british spellings and date formats in the "top secret document" - specifically, if this was really a US agency, why were British spelling used over and over in the document? The Observer said that they CHANGED the spellings for the british audience. That seems like a strange explaination to me considering that they claimed to be revealing the "original text" of the document. Hmmmm. Maybe it's true. Maybe its just another smear tactic by peace-nicks. (BTW, The Observer went back and changed the spellings back to the "original" once the discrepancy was pointed out to them.) http://www.observer.co.uk/iraq/story/0,12239,905954,00.html[^] ------------------------------------------ They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin In an encampment expecting daily attack from a powerful enemy, self-preservation is paramount to all law. - Thomas Jefferson
