Sounds like the language used to describe the character of Bloody Stupid Johnson, who in the Discworld is a kind of "inverse genius," i.e., he can produce triangles with three right angles and circles the ratio of whose circumferences to their diameters is always 3. Inverse genius is defined by Sir Terry Pratchett as, "As far away from incompetence as normal genius, but in the opposite direction." I think the Discworld novels have to win the prize as the books who use buzzwords and also who do it in a very pleasing-to-read manner.

I think there was a Dilbert cartoon about that. Right after saying the above, the Pointy-Haired Boss says, "Something that describes how I've seamlessly integrated food services with engineering." To which Dilbert replies, "How about 'chips and dips?'" Hahahahaha BTW, BINGO for the "Seamlessly integrating"

I've been asked, "How many years of experience with Agile and SCRUM?" A lot. All I ever do is go to meetings and wait for other people to do their jobs. One time, there was this guy hired as a Lead Developer over me (the Lead Developer position was open to me and then I was told I would be made just a "Senior" Developer), and anyway, he wanted to have meetings twice per week. I pushed back on that because what do we want to do: (a) have meetings or (b) actually get work done? Aaarghh!

I know, right? And, if they are bringing in the tiger team of hired guns, then why am I not on that team, being brought in? Am I not seen as a hired gun?

So, does the fact that I have a Ph.D. in Physics and worked with large data sets doing scientific research (as does every scientific researcher whom I know), make the reality be more like, "All scientists have been doing Big Data ever since there was science to be done?" Oh, and by the way, don't even get me started on "Data Scientist..."

You've got to think like a manager - the quote is actually correct :) The war is convincing/threatening/bullying your workforce until 95% of them agree with you. You can then focus on the battle of wearing down (demoralising until they leave?) the 5% that know that you're talking crap. Then, and only then, can you take your position on the company throne (so to speak) How do you know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

Try to get the first one changed to "Backend As a Service To Automate Research and Development". :-D "These people looked deep within my soul and assigned me a number based on the order in which I joined." - Homer
