Writing Javascript on your own is pretty impressive. Reminds me of the Liverpool University web site, advertising a course that includes programming the internet.

I don't need to program the internet, I have it downloaded on a floppy.

No problem at all if you first optimize all redundancy and irrelevance away :)

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy
        And it came worse.

I am guessing you did a science/maths degree as they were (and sadly probably still) seen as subjects for men only.

I studied after leaving the military. I was a bit older than most of the students, already a bit wiser and in good training what the drinking was concerned :)

Excuse me for my improper grammar and typos. It's because English is my primary language, not my first language. My first languages are C# and Java. VB, ASP, JS, PHP and SQL are my second language. Indonesian came as my third language. My fourth language? I'm still creating it, I'll let you know when it's done! :-D

You don't go to college to gain experience or expertise on anything. You simply get courses on a more or less broad selection of things and see that you pass the tests. Many people there have never worked on real projects, never had to apply the theoretical things they learned to real problems and have not even begun to build connections between the islands of knowledge they may or may not have.

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy

It would have been nice if it were a place of learning though.

well, just a skilled developer may have written an intepreter for Javascript using Java.
