I had the blackberry torch for 1 month and hated it. The design is flimsy and the phone isn't very responsive. However, I then bought a blackberry bold 9780 and absolutely love it.

Why debugging in VS2010 sucks today...I haven't installed vs.net 2010 yet but you say it doesn't do MDI anymore??? I hope that's not the case. That's the only mode I like to work in. I always have multiple windows open and visible.

Quick Survey: Software Activation [modified]we do #2, our customers seem fine with it. After we implemented #2 our sales per customer went up (they were being more honest about how many peopel were actually using it).

The death of traditional file names and directoriesif people would simply take a second to put files in my documents/somefolder or some organized place then they wouldn't run into that problem as often. I rarely ever lose a file because I treat saving files as an important step in the process.

Bing SearchI just like the search results. So far the seaches I've done on it have come up with more relevant results than I got on google. All the bells and whistles for me are just annoying. For me to switch to bind, the results have to be the best. And so far they are.

Licensing madnessit does... unfortunately, many of our customers demand it. If you think its a pain for you to purchase, think about what a pain it is for us to manage all the variants.

How to track down XP lockup?I had this exact same problem some time ago. The problem ended up being the motherboard software that was controlling the 'overclock' and 'fans' and such. After a certain amount of time it would try and switch down into a lower mode which caused my machine to freeze.

So I ask a programming question...preach it brother.

For all Lenovo fans out there... System Update is discontinued.I worked for a company that supplied some of the management software for ibm and these laptops. Our entire gov contract was pulled when ibm sold thinkpad to lenovo and the existing orders were cancelled. We were told at the time that the government wasn't going to be ordering laptops created/designed/made by in that part of the world.

For all Lenovo fans out there... System Update is discontinued.I love my t61p more than any laptop i've ever owned. While this sucks, I won't stop using this machine. side note to that. now that they don't make normal sized screen laptops (i HATE widescreen laptops), I'll probably be using this one for a very long time in the future.

very subtle bug. can you figure out whats wrong with this? :)close! the (byte?) overrides the int implication on the 2 though. However, you are right about an implied int as the problem. And this is where it gets a bit strange. When the expression evalutates without the ?? (becuase x=2 is not null) then it throws an exception and complains about the fact that the 1 is an implied int (even though its not used). The part that seems like a compiler bug to me is that when you set x=null and the expression evaluates with the 1 being used, it treats the 1 not as an int but as a byte?. bug?

very subtle bug. can you figure out whats wrong with this? :)object x = 2; byte? i = ((byte?)x) ?? 1; First, without throwing this into vs.net. See if you can figure out what is wrong with this expression. Second, it SHOULD exhibit the same behavior if x = null; But it doesn't. Compiler bug maybe?

Office 2007 ?yes, it is. On the outlook front, this has to be the worst email client ever in the history of the world. Right now it's doing a search for me and as soon as the search results come back, it blanks the list. Add that to the fact that filters rarely work the way they are supposed to and it occassionally loses email and my frustration with this POS keeps growing...

Yet another rip offThere are several sites that do that. it's pretty pathetic

You MIght Be Spending Too Much TIme At CodeProject When...Gmail frustrates the heck out of me. :) I meant more as in clients for email. If I had my dream email client/server it would have a lot of different ways to 'view' my emails with easier to use filters, would keep my email on the server and cache it locally (but do it a lot better than exchange server does), allow me to see even the deepest technical details of a raw email, etc. the list goes on
