My wife has training/experience with a very specific type of hardware. The number of people that can say that they have worked with this hardware in a production environment with the number of units she does is probably a 3 digit number in the US. She got an interview in a town with a similar size/cost of living/and wage index as where we are now. The recruiter was e-mailing/calling every few days. She interviews and they offer her 40K/yr. "The average wages of the area make that a good figure." She responded with "I would not have taken the job for less than that, as a raise. Offering someone less than 2/3rds of their current wage for a position that requires moving is insulting. Good luck filling the position." She interviewed last year. The recruiter called her last week and asked if she had reconsidered. They've been limping along with no one in the job for over a year. They still won't increase the wage. My wife's also at the point where if the recruiter calls, she gets inventive. He must hate her. She only used yes and no one day, acted like she had tourettes another, and spoke in gibberish with me translating a third. Next time he calls, she's going to be in labor. ;)
