I think my weirdest would be a serial to cat5 adapter.

Mac vs. PC adsMy sad recently got a new XP Pro machine from HP, and to my utter shock, it had only a DVD player app on it. Nothing else, and the player is worth keeping as it isn't a trial and the PC has a DVD drive. I sure hope it's the start of a new era.

Web hosting hell - what to do? [modified]Bluehost. Very good prices, OC-48, quad-core Linux Apatche shared, 2 TB bandwidth, I think 200GB storage, 2500 email, 20 subdomain. The only thing lacking is the 50 SQL databases. https://www.bluehost.com/tell\_me\_more.html Please ask me for a referral link if you use it. :)

Game suggestionsWas the OSS game called Sauerbraten? Oh, never mind, that's FPS. I haven't played any FPS games in a good while, but I tried that one just as a gfx card test. Seemed very much like Quake III. My cousin recommends Quake 4.

How to mount a DVD image (in Vista)?http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5 The 64-bit version is below the first download box. You do not need ISOBuster or any similar software to mount and use the DVD image. Simply install Daemon Tools, select mount image, and presto! A DVD drive in My Computer that acts just like a real one. If there appears to be some kind of protection scheme, just enable Daemon Tool's emulation; it almost always works.

Microsoft, Google and users=0 & Newsmakers=1Bad idea. If there is no competition, the industry will stagnate and monopoly will take over.

Preferred installation packageInnoSetup? That's what I use, and it's very good. The only thing I have found it lacking out of the box is internet update/download capabilities, but it has a full scripting language (Pascal), so you could make your own internet stuff if you need it. It has no nags, just a permanent entry in the executable's Comment field.
