:omg: You must have photographic memory. I compare different versions of files like a dozen times a day at least.

Source control: mandatory or not -
Source control: mandatory or notI can't imagine doing my job in any kind of sane way without source control.

Removal. That was 15 min ago. Now it is 3,961,064. No wait, I just refreshed the page and got 3,961,059. 5 people must have just closed their accounts :)

Vista Copy, Paste and Move bug ...I noticed that most of the time (if the files aren't big) it finishes the operation before it can calculate the remaining time. So I didn't think it was wasting time there. But it sure is wasting time somewhere because file operations in Vista is infuriatingly slow.

You cannot have it!In their defense, you deserve to know who has been using your password all this time.;P

Vista ListboxesThis bugs me too. It seems that with the Aero theme you can't customize anything other than the glass title bar hue. I tried to change the window non-client area color to gray, no dice. Very annoying. I'm looking for a solution too in case anyone knows how.

Fresh install with upgrade versionThanks! It's frustrating that they won't allow this directly. And hard to believe that they left a workaround.

Fresh install with upgrade versionDoes anybody know if Vista will allow a fresh install if I purchase the upgrade version ? Logically I think it should be allowed but I'm wondering if anybody has first-hand experience.

Bluetooth mouseI have this mouse and I'm using it with my blootooth-enabled laptop. I like the fact that there isn't a USB dongle sticking out anywhere. I haven't even installed the Logitech software, I'm using the Blootooth software that came with the machine and it paired with no problems. The battery life is ok, but I wish it was rechargable. The bad thing is the delay. If you don't use the mouse for a minute or so, it goes into a power-saving sleep mode, and then it takes about a second or two to "wake up". This got really annoying at first but I got used to it. I haven't been able to figure out how to turn off the sleep mode. All in all I'd say I like the mouse but it could have been better.

Double BugIf you delete the char arrays right away like that, your Stuff object will have dangling pointers, and you'll have a lot of fun doing those really cool things afterwards :-)

An easy, but one of the most often coded errorsSadly, I've seen this done way too many times even by "experienced" programmers.

Vista delayed even further....Eerr.. That article is dated last week as well. And, I also think you should take these remarks to the soapbox.

2 steps back to the Moon, one step forward?I agree, there was national pride at the stake. But I disagree that NASA's failure would have been considered a disgrace. They were trying to accomplish something unthinkable, their failure would definitely have been forgiven I think. Just like a soccer goal-keeper facing a penalty kick. No one expects him to save the goal, but if he does, he is a hero :)

2 steps back to the Moon, one step forward? If they failed in 60's it wouldn't really be a big deal, no one really expected them to pull it off anyway. Today, however, every time NASA fails, they face great criticism and embarrassment. Not to mention the risk of getting their funding cut. So, stakes are higher today for them IMO.

Formula 1: Alonso!Alonso really had a terrific season and a well deserved victory. About next year, I think it's anybody's guess how any team will perform. They're going to 2.4L V8's and most teams didn't even start testing their engines yet. Should be interesting, I'm looking forward to it.

40 year old virginI saw Brothers Grimm last night and I thought it was great. Very clever humor (very Monty Python like), great acting (especially by Heath Ledger), good story and good directing. Reviews I read was bashing the predictable ending but I thought that was part of the spoof.

Subversion vs. CVS?CVSNT recently added versioning of folders but I found it to be a bit error prone (you have to commit-update the whole folder for versioning to work). SVN seems superior in that sense.

Ever want to know about midichlorian counts?Chewbacca has more midichlorians than Han Solo.. :wtf: even more than Padme .. I am so disillusioned right now :)

Thunderbird - where did my folders go?Something somewhat similar happened to me the other day. Program seemed to stop checking mail, everything on the view was static and things were disappearing. I changed back to the default theme and it got fixed. I don't know if you are using a non-default theme though.

Driving the 2005 CorvetteFor a long time I thought Corvette is a classic old American muscle car push-rod junk (no offense anyone). But I got to test drive a C5 and I was very impressed. Great acceleration and awesome handling too. Don't know about C6 but you have one sweet ride.
