So I guess you won't mind at all if I remove any and all limitations from PimpFish, and freely distribute it to whomever I please for no charge and with no compensation to you.

Which is all well and good, but that's not what we're talking about. I want to be able to watch the movies on linux, or to rip them to xvid to watch on my standalone player. I've no interest in distributing them with no charge or compensation to the movie makers, I just want to be able to use the movie that I purchased as I see fit. DRM doesn't let me do so, removal of it does.

  • UK music sees record album sales
    D David Parrott

Paul Watson wrote: So it seems P2P and kin are not harming the music industry as the RIAA and family would have you believe. Album sales are at record levels in the U.K. I believe it's pretty much the same in the US too, they have traditionally made all their money from single sales though, which is what they're moaning about. I think it's because it's much easier to download a single track that you've heard on the radio or something than it is to download an album. So you hear the track, decide you actually like it, then buy the album. They however don't make as much money that way. David Parrott

Just 2 questions. What are you doing that requires so much speed? About the only think I can think of is games programming. In which case I wouldn't do that with .NET (yet), and I probably wouldn't use MFC either. Are you able to justify/prove the statement that .NET is slow? Knowing both is imo a good thing, they're not mutually exclusive. David Parrott

I've had experience with sites hosted on www.34sp.com. Friends I know have used them too, never had any problems. It's also nice and cheap, the basic starts from £15 a year (yes, a year). David Parrott

It's becoming more common too. I don't drive but I do ride a motorbike, I feel that having my lights on gives generic sleeping at the wheel driver more chance of seeing me. All (as far as I am aware) 2004 model motorbikes have their lights on all the time as standard, as in you don't even get a lightswitch. (Note, this is coming from the UK) David Parrott
