EmEditor: It's fast, customizable and without the bloat. UltraEdit would be my second choice, also a excellent editor

When will developers start to learn that the interface matters as much or more than the functionality.
I agree with you on that one. Caligari (dev of truespace) for example still stays away from that advice. Some things never change with a lot of software, they never catch on.

Computer torchure. Some things never change with AMD, they crack under pressure LOL. That was actually an interesting view. edit: This reminds me when I overclocked an AMD with a water coolant and it still cracked, also leaving a large crack in the mb. My Intel systems are running strong with no problems...the extra investment goes a long way. :)

Can you accept your gf going vacation with another guy?If the guy was gay then I wouldn't see anything wrong with it. My gf has more gay male friends then straight so to me if he isn't gay then you should be worried.

12,483 Users Online...I noticed 21018 online Monday, then it went down to only 19184 online a few minutes later. The site was running well with only a couple error pages

First Virus in 25 Years [modified]It's always good to be safe cause you never know if a company product you use that needs an update and you go and download the update it happens to be infected. I downloaded an update a few months ago for a program I own from the companies website and it happened to be infected. I informed them and they said it was scanned before they uploaded it but apparently they used norton, ouch. Without av software you would never know, some virus malware etc don't really give a visual notice of their presence but a system speed decrease notice. I remember not long ago in here how you never had the need for a av program, I new one of these days it would happen, cause without a av program to stop the virus in its tracks it has free reign. Atleast you were lucky no data loss occured. I highly recommend the best av program for the job and that is Eset Nod32[^] They are the leader in av trojan and malware protection. They support windows, linux, freebsd and so on. Remember when nullsoft uploaded a infected winamp install?

My Vista ExperienceI agree, one of the many things I remember most about norton products is the blue screens let alone the load of registry keys the products create.

McAfee is a rip-off!I would recommend you try eset nod32 - nod32 website[^] It is by far the best antivirus program out there.

Gotta do something beside code...That is if the moutain and water is a real original picture or developed in vue or bryce as for the planet yeah photoshop could easily do that as well the reflections by layers and blending. The reflection of the moutain is wrong it's backwards.

Gotta do something beside code...Looks like something made in Vue d' Esprit or Bryce not photoshop. You forgot to remove the copyright link

Vista's built in anti-SpywareThe original beta 1 antispyware ms had bought and changed some was pretty ok with most of it's protection and I think this new version of it (defender beta 2) is really not any where close to the protection beta 1 was. This version (defender beta 2) is awful let alone it's endless load of bugs. It might be ready as of beta 3 for somewhat reliable use but not now.

No more pagefile (modified)Your kidding right?

Glass houses...Well as you'll notice at times sourceforge.net will go offline for updates and the error your getting might be with a new build of glibc they installed, so they will downgrade if it happens to a lot of users or apply the patch if available to address the problem. It is most likely a bug in the mailer or other tools. glibc has a feature for detecting corruption through the malloc_check variable. They seem to have it on 3 for generating the error and killing the program.

Another reason I hate ExplorerI feel your pain Chris. I gave up on explorer long ago and use alternative file managers for browsing my network. I also gave up explorer as a shell long long ago and have never gone back. I think you should first try a different file manager and to rid the pain of lockups and crashes use an alternative shell for better speed and stability. I use bblean shell and servant salamander as my file manager and when I've installed new systems I build I quickly realise the pain explorer can be and how slow the system is before I clean it up and kill explorers existance or lets say use for good.
