  • Dr. Who.... Hmmmmmmm (no spoilers)
    H hayrob

This is the first time I've watched an episode of Dr Who all the way through since David Tennant. Plot was mad but the script did a fantastic job of linking the nonsense together. Great fun. At last a deep Doctor, reminds me of Patrick Troughton. Even my partner laughed all the way through. That and Strictly to come too - what fun on a Saturday evening!

  • Sky Go, or lack of it, on Android

Err... thanks! I'm not sure what you mean, and a look at Cyanogenmod hasn't helped much. Anyway, my device is not supported by Cyanogenmod!

  • Sky Go, or lack of it, on Android
    H hayrob

As a loyal and happy Windows Phone user from its early Windows Phone 7 days through to my current Nokia Lumia 920 and 1520, I have been frustrated by the lack of Sky Go support (and BT Sport) on the platform. Yesterday I invested in a (cheapish) Android phone - the Moto E. Much to my shock and dismay, I find that Sky Go is not supported on this device. (At least BT Sport is supported!) What is going on? I take it "Android" is an umbrella term for a random set of implementations which are all fundamentally different. I am far from an expert, but I have knocked out apps which have worked on each version of the Windows Phone OS - there have never been any breaking changes as far as I'm aware, although some appa are of course not backward compatible.

  • Referenda
    H hayrob

Interesting, although predictable discussion being generated here. I'm quite happy for people to vote in referendums - seems a good idea to me. (The plural of referendum is referendums - referendum is a gerund, and therefore has no plural in Latin - there got that off my chest!)

  • A revisit to "that" prank call
    H hayrob

You did not say that it was funny, but you did say that it was not a bad one. Sole point of a "prank" call is to amuse - therefore it follows that the "not bad one" was "not too unfunny" - geddit? You must have some very strange conversations if the other party can't draw conclusions from what you say. You should have a field day with this reply!
