  • Denis Bauer's Site Is Down?
    J Josh Koppang

Does anybody have a copy of Denis Bauer's FileDisassembler that they can send me, or suggest an alternative? I'm guessing that his site is down... Thanks in advance. -Josh ---------------- "When in doubt, state the obvious." -Me

  • Happening to Anyone Else
    J Josh Koppang

This is pbly way off topic and not really related to anything here, but it is driving me nuts. I work very fast with IE and any program as you all must too, and I hate waiting... I'm not sure when this started happening, but I think it was since the latest automatic updates. What is happening is when IE is loading a page, after the page is loaded, it hesitates for a second or two and won't allow you to scroll down with the mouse wheel or click a link on the page. Actually, no interaction with the whole IE window is allowed. Up until the progress bar in the status bar fills up you can interact with the window or anything on the page. I have seen this problem on 2 computers. Windows XP Pro and Home. I have searched the knowledge base. Any ideas? -Josh ---------------- "When in doubt, state the obvious." -Me

  • A Question About Picture Frames
    J Josh Koppang

I have a solution that does exactly what you want. goto: http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/vwd/default.aspx[^] download Visual Web Developer Express (it's free) After installing it, goto: File -> New Website Select the "Personal Web Starter Kit" Goto: Debug -> Start Explore the pages and find one with the frame around the photo. (defautl.aspx has one) Open the CSS file that has the style for that image (in the folder: Themes -> White -> Default.css) Look for the style: .photo-frame .topx-- {...} All of the styles that have the .photo-frame will help you. I know this might seem like overkill, but you can see how the people that wrote ASP.NET would put a frame around a photo, and you know that this way of doing it is probably the best. • CSS Borders Always White???
    J Josh Koppang

I have a table layout that uses CSS to format the background color of the cells, etc. The problem is when I use any of the border styles, the space for the border is drawn, but not the color. (i.e. if I have border-bottom: solid 1px black; it I get a 1 px, solid WHITE border. I have tried many colors and it always ends up white. I also changed the width to something big, like 10px, and once again, I got a 1px, WHITE border. Any ideas??? There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

Does anyone know how to set the title of an ASP.NET page from a code behind file at runtime (obviously)? I noticed there is a 'runat' and 'id' attribute, but I cannot successfully change the title. Any help would be appreciated. • Conversion From VB
    J Josh Koppang

I am converting some code written by someone else in VB(.NET?) to Visual C#. I have figured out most of the weird language, but I am stuck on one problem. Here is the VB code (you may recognize it from MSDN): Private Sub ConfigureContextMenu(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Popup Dim ctl As TextBox = CType(Me.SourceControl, TextBox) MenuItems .Enabled = ctl.CanUndo MenuItems(7).Enabled = (ctl.SelectedText <> ctl.Text) MenuItems(2).Enabled = (ctl.SelectionLength > 0) ' cut ... (continues) How do I translate the usage of the Handles keyword in VB to C#. I know there is no handles keyword. • Help With Discovery
    J Josh Koppang

First, the specs: I am using VS C# Standard 2002 on WinXP Home. I have been building websites for several clients with Visual Studio and having to upload the site manually (with Explorer or an FTP client). I just discovered an Add-In named: Web Hosting Provider Upload Utility with the description: Upload projects to your favorite web hosting provider. I checked the box to enable it, as well as the 'Startup' box to load it at startup. Now this is great, but how do I use it to upload the pages? I can't find anything anywhere to do it. I have tried looking for it in an ASP.NET application, but to no avail. If someone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. • Redirection
    J Josh Koppang

I'm not sure if the solution to my problem would actually be a web programmer's job, but I'm hoping that one of you may have had a similar need. Here it is: I am setting up wireless internet for a hotel major hotel chain. Only one computer (one of the hotel's servers) will actually have the wireless modems, but will supply internet for each room. The ideal situation is this: 1-The user plugs their computer into the network jack (no internet access at this point). 2-They open up their preferred browser and instead of their homepage, it will display a page on our internal network. 3-They will go through a process to activate their room. The problem that I have is dsplaying our page instead of their homepage. How would I intercept this? Would I have to write a pseudo HTTP server? Thanks, Josh Koppang Wiacomm, Inc. Well, I should consider myself lucky then. I have a question that has been bothering me sice high school: Do programmers from other countries that use the standard c libraries and the like, in which the functions and variables, etc are in English have workarounds or interpreters that convert them into their language, or do they just have to "learn" English?

I am positive that something I had installed allowed me to do that. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I wasn't sure where to put it: I am running Windows NT 4 Workstation, SP6a, and IE6.0. I recently installed onto a new hardrive to have enough space for Visual Studio .NET. Before this new installation, I had only had SP4, and IE 5.5. Ok, now my question, when I right click on items in the start menu, no context menu shows up. Also, Windows Explorer is archaic, with no address bar, etc. It looks just like before the services packs and IE install. Everything worked before my fresh install, but I can't remember what I had installed to update this. Once, again, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a web-device that is running Windows CE 3.0 embedded. I've made a small webserver like application that allows me to type in it's IP address and view the webpages that I have set up on it. I'm using a COM wrapper to wrap the low level C code. I instantiate the COM object with server side JavaScript (because there is no support for ASP), and perform the operations on the machine through the COM object. Finally... Here's the problem: Whenever I call the functions to interact with the machine, the result I always get is 0 (S_OK). Even though I specify one of the parameters as [out, retval]. How do I call COM methods, that you usually pass a pointer to, from JavaScript and ASP, that do not have pointers? Any help would be appreciated.
