I agree with your statements here. I agree it's force. I was just pointing out that it's not the merchant paying the tax, it's the buyer. Further, this is not really a new tax, as each individual must usually pay a "use tax" on items bought from out-of-state. Of course, most people either are ignorant of that or ignore it (like I do). I see your point about not having any say in the rules. Bad idea. So.... Make each state collect their "use tax". Perhaps they want to have all packages come through a "customs" house where the tax can be imposed. LOL. Like that'd work.
